Significance of 123 in Our Foreign Policy
by Lalatendu Deo on Aug 11, 2007 07:06 PM  Permalink

123 is only a small agreement which will guide us through installation of about half a dozen or so Power Plants in our country. There are several thousands such things that is what our foreign policy is all about. No doubt it is a step towards our co-operation with the US. And we can always step back. Even after signing, if we do set up not even a single Reactor, what would be the significance of the Deal. And these hula bo would amount to a big zero.

We are all talking about the Violation of the agreement. Why should we not talk about its compliance by both the parties? There are provisions in the Agreement to take care of the Hypotheticals and the Ifs & the Buts and in all probability none of these would arise in the entire life time of the agreement.

Having said so, I must say that the other party is very unreliable one and we have to make provisions and Safe Pits to fall back upon.

And who would make the US to comply, if it wishes not to honour any or all of the provisions of 123? And they are the only ones who can always say what is there in the agreement. And no one else. But there is no way India can do any such thing in the entire life of the agreement.

But it is good to see so many moving ideas in these columns.

US in my opinion has very little credibility when it comes to an anti-china alliance. they are in debt big time to the Chinese and are big time traders with the chinese. Finally all the pakistani generals are whetted by the americans and have their blessings. If people do not remember a lot of khalistani terrorists were trained in the US / western capitals.
So any agreement with the US must be realistic. All this democracy crap does not work with the US since they are more "White Supremecist" as opposed to true democratists.

Nuclear deal won't affect foreign policy
by babu on Aug 11, 2007 03:56 PM  Permalink

ndia is the only country in the world to which USA agreed to give nuclear cooperation without signing the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty
Experts said the USA agreed to give India advance, long-term permission to reprocess U.S.-origin nuclear material once New Delhi builds a new reprocessing facility that would only use such material.
This is happening despite the fact that the Americans "do not give consent rights to reprocess except to our closest allies, Japan and Euratom,
The 123 agreement also says that while the United States might cut off nuclear cooperation in the event of an Indian nuclear test, it will seek to ensure India continues receiving fuel from other sources.
Australia signaled Thursday it is edging toward a decision to sell uranium to India despite the refusal by New Delhi to sign the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty.

Mr Senior official
It seems that india Has allowed its Foreign policy to be Dictated By Some Stupid person who has no love for This country and Its Citizes At All and is totally miscoceiving about itself..Our relationships with Our Friendly countries Like IRAN,UAE ETc have deteriorated Not to Speak OfOur Neighbours some of them Even Hindu Rashtras(nepal ,Sri lanka Etc).
Still It is not Toatally gone. Let Our foreign policy be Decided in Open Rather than Behind the veils By Our Hijackers (RAW thro Russia)

SORRY To Use These Strong words But I am NOW Really desperate with Our Policy Makers
