mobile phones usage
by atheeq khan on Aug 09, 2007 06:21 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The Article on mobile phone usage sounds unethical.half hearted approach to indirectly panic the users.i do agree for continous use more than 1 hour so,but even though thats also need proper research and feedback to come to conclusions.besides, 18 months observation cannot prove a 4years prone of usage.
henceforth, please be specific and really worthwhile to be your good listerner.
never distort the facts.

Well mr aheeq, I am sure you are aware that there are two types of medical study designs...case control and cohort. Cohort study is when you follow for the entire duration (4 yrs). But you can also do a retrospective study in one day if you want to and study the effect of four years of exposure by using a case control study. although the odds ratios obtained from thses studies are not as uselful as Relative Risks (RRs) obtained from cohort studies, it is still statistically signifant if the proper tests are done for data comparison and confidence interval determination. So IT IS POSSIBLE to study a four year effect in one day or less than an hour even! But you have to make sure that the sample size is proper and there are no confounding factors and biases that invalidate the study.

Please refresh medical statistics and then comment.

Atheeq

there are unpublished articles, which tell u clearly what are the sideeffects of using mobile phones...
even manufacturers, if u read ur usermanual, will have them mentioned in it...
when u go home, pls check it.

undocumented ones, have never been published...

three basic preventive measures:
dont keep ur mobile phones ON with 3 meters, when u sleep...
dont carry it always with u, much closer like in ur pockets, etc.
dont talk to anyone more than 10 minutes on the phone, holding it, use a handsfree or speakers instead... not even bluetooth.
