The research on cell phones is not authorised by the dean(no acknowledgement). Quality is inadequate as it is not even a contolled study. The hearing status of people at the beginning of this so called research is not mentioned.100 subjects is too low a figure to be taken seriously.
The hazards of Mobile phones has been published at least 5 yrs ago. There are instances where users have developed problems. READERS PLEASE NOTE : PEOPLE IN GUJARAT ARE MORE PRONE TO LUECODERMA (WHITE PATCHES) THAN IN OTHER PARTS OF INDIA. IS IT ON ACCOUNT OF THE GROUND WATER OR SOMETHING ELSE? DID ANYONE CARE TO CONDUCT ANY STUDIES? Similarly, bad effect of usage of Plastic/Polythene/PET bottles/containers to store edible items, must also be researched thoroughly. The ill effect may not come out immediately (10 or 20 yrs) but once sets in, it may damage generations of children. Unfortunately, we have come so far in the usage of "make life easy" equipments that we are definitely damaging our health (in the name of development) These gadgets are leading ourselves to live without any essence of life. NO EXERCISE/PHYSICAL ACTIVITY leading to several health problems like heart attacks, diabetese, blood pressure etc. SIMPLE FACTS OF MODERN HAZARDS - LESS OXYGEN IN HIGH RISE BUILDINGS, SPENT OXYGEN IN AC ROOMS, HOT AIR THROWN INTO STREETS FROM ACs & AC CARS. There are gruesome accidents on account of tech nology failure/human error in high speed trains, aircrafts, space crafts etc. where any failure or error is CERTAIN DEATH. Can we think of living without Aircrafts, Mobile Phones, Cars, Refrigerators, Nuclear energy etc.? NO we live with all these inventions which harm human beings & also damage ENVIRONMENT FOR EVER. LESS DEVELOPMENT MORE PLEASURE IN LIFE.
We need to wait for more research like 1) whether the vibrations in mobile usage harm the cellgrowth in body.(leading to development of cancers) obviously , such studies can be done only 20 years from use of mobo=iles.. so, lets wait for another decade.
2) whether the use of mobile harm growth of normal cells (leading to brain tumors)
3) whether the use of CDMA with high frequency leads to epithelial cell loss in blood vessels or more A-V malformation, thereby leading to brain haemorrhage
4) whether the lithum or cadmium batteries of mobiles lead to abnormal cell growth in two decades..
All these are Real possibiliites. As mobile usage is only new to the world, We need more RANDOMISED TRIALS AND SYSTEMATIC ANALYSES through continenets to work up on these.
Only then, can we say, these mobiles are safe.
No one person can claim that use of 2,4,10 years hasnt harmed him or her.
Without appropriate trials and statistical analyses of atleast studies carried out for 5-10 years to study the LONGTERM effects of any new device, we can never claim safety of any device(like any drug) to mankind.

Recently a news item which appeared in an Indian news paper reported the following finding:- A research study by scientists in Denmark involving more than 4 lakhs people using cellphones for more than 8 years did not find any evidence linking the development of tumor associated with cell phone usage and came to the conclusion that cell phone usage does not cause any aberrations in human brain cells. Similar trials in other continents are needed to corroborate the findings and to reassure human beings about the cell phone usage. Thanking you, Sekaran.N.
I havebeen using mobile GSM) for more thsan 10 years now. Off late I have been getting ear pain whenever I use the mobile and thats why whenever possible I use the speaker phone mode. I have a couple of friends who have similar problems too. This is an issue which needs further study and probe. Lots of young guys an dkids use the Mobile for long hours - one can imagine the harm it does in the long run...

Even by using head sets (hands free), other research reports recommend not to use over extended periods (about one hour) You try using continously for one hour and the change is perceptible in your hearing ability, although it could temprorary. But whether the orginal sensitivity to hearing is recovered on stopping usage is yet to be proven
