It is easy to call Jinnah a traitor. That gives a stamp on our patriotism also.
But if you read history objectively you will find Jinnah was not at all interested in politics or organising Muslims. In fact he was more secular than many of our leaders. Being a foreign educated Barrister he was more western than the westerners. He was totally opposed to Gandhis supporting the Khilafat movement. He used to say that this step of Gandhi would sow the seed of extra national loyalty amongst Muslims and what happens to the Kaliph has nothing to do with Indian Muslims. You cant be more secular than that. Can you? His initial thoughts were finest examples of Nationalistic feelings.
But then the appeasing policies of Congress under Gandhi made him think of hijacking the Minority plank and it took him just 10 years to plan and execute a strategy which ended in partition.
It is unfortunate that our leadership converted a Nationalist Muslim into a Communal politician. Thats the tragedy of India.

Kishore, just correcting ur knowledge, between the Mughals and British taking over there is a gap og 100-150 years, dear Marathas were rulling, remember battle of Panipat yes Marathas went till ATTOK in Afghanistan. Before British the Mugals were soundly defeated, infact Marathas allowed the Sikh Kingdom to expand thats why you have Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa declaration That the Granth is the last Guru happening in NANDED (Maharashtra), unfortunately its only in History pages and no where else !!!

cmon dont get the imaginations run wild. let not emotions take over """Wadia (88), the mother of textile magnate Nusli Wadia of the Bombay Dyeing [Get Quote] group, claims that the title of the house be handed over to her as she is Jinnah's only heir.""
I think it will be a fitting tribute to jinnah the traitor if the house is razed to ground and converted into Sulabh shouchalaya.......free for all .....and it can be named Pakistan . Whole new meaning to the term....i am going to pakistan .

what about opening a p!g-farm ????
Jinnah was a traitor, and his house should be torn down to make way for a park for the aggreived people of this nation who suffered so terribly from his treachery - his nefarious deal with the equally treacherous Brits to partition India to satisfy thier ego - if they can't keep it then they will break it up - and they made darned sure the peices never got put back together again to create huge, single, unified, powerful nation - and they've succeeded beyond their wildest dreams, with even a little help from Congress and it's leaders.

It will be interesting if you read history and try to find out why Jinnah thought of a different country for Muslims.

Jinnah thought- I agree it was a division driven by religion/ego & non acceptance to be under a majority hindu community But pl understand the wadia's who chose to stay in india , even after thier father left for pakistan are to bear for the sins(sic). moreover they have been law abiding / not relally in the limelight / and also having a business empire which fuels our economy let us not be parochial to wadia's To jinnah of course every body nurtures a grouse. i hope you hav got the point.
