chicken manchurian has nothing to do with china.. it was created by a chinese origin chef who had never been to china, in kolkata... it is a common myth that chicken manchurian is chinese food.

Mr. Ramachandran,

Have you read the full text of 123 agreement? Do you even understand what is the implication of signing such a deal? Don't make such off-the-hat comments like that without understanding even the ABC of such critical matters.

Current indian govt and its offcials will not do any harm to india in these matters. Also Dr. Anil kakodkar the famous and poineering indian nuclear scientist was also invoved in negotiating the deal.I have worked under him although in the lower rungs.I have full trust in him, for that matter I think all officers worked under him trust him.

Your trust is amazing. Let me give you some food for thought - suppose the deal is signed. America starts giving us Uranium 235 and we slowly build a power sector that is now dependent on this fuel rods. And of course lots of industry is now dependent on this power. And then we have to detonate a bomb and America stops the fuel supply. What happens to our industry and power sector?

Now, per the agreement, America would 'try' (remember, it is not bound to) to arrange supply of fuel from other countries. Which are these countries? These are NSG countries, who have always asked India to sign the NPT. In all probability, these countries would NOT give us any fuel unless we agree to stop all nuclear tests. So we now have a huge industry and power sector dependent on foreign whims - not really a good position to be in.

Additionally, do you think America would only stop at this? America would sell aeroplanes on the strength of this, they would force you to open up your economy and would create a permanent base in Indian water. None of these things, my friend, can be rolled back.

I see what this deal is, a guarantee of eternal Indian servility to USA. As an Indian, I am deeply concerned about this and your faith my friend, means nothing. There would be no Kakodkar anywhere in the horizon when the noose tightens. Remember Tarapur in 1974 and what US did there. We are still suffering from the consequences.

china softens stance on indo us nuclear deal
by vadali venkataramana on Aug 07, 2007 09:07 PM  Permalink

two countries whom we need not beleive are china and pakistan. they talk one thing and do something else. our indian red monkeys are the least knowledgeable about anything except good for agitations and expressing their displeasure for everything. the deal is over so what if others comment, we are not a rogue state like pakistan. we are a responsible democracy, pakistan has to beg china for a nuclear deal to run their show.mera bharat mahan

China softens stance on N-deal?
by Bodh Ramdeo on Aug 07, 2007 08:24 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Don't be fooled by the mandarins getsures - China has taken this position expressedly to position herself to extend in future, a simialr Sino-Pak N-deal, which no one will try to derail - China, apart from being a member of the NSG is more importantly, a veto-wielding permanent member of the UNSC, which gives her great leverage - leverage which she's been using with great frequency to further her own global agenda.

China has no other option
by rupesh rajput on Aug 07, 2007 08:16 PM  Permalink

Actually I think now china has acted wisely. Becoz china cannot anyway block it and if it tries doing so will end spoiling relation with India and America which it doesnt want. Also it will vitiate the mood for the forth coming Manmohan singh visit to China.
