Q.1: The USA cann't do this time like 1999 economic sanction after pokhran test. USA has already tested the resilience & capability of India doing that like Indradev used his bajra to down pour & thunder storms to threaten the Gopapuris' to make his puja only to be defeated & surrender under the Yadav chhokra Kishan Kanhaiya.
Q.2: USA cann't do any thing of other nuclear powers, as they are already self-resilient & capable of giving a fitting reply to a nuclear power howsoever might that may be, only in their own sphere except RUSSIA, who can go beyond like america, despite a fragile economy of it.
Q.3: This time USA cann't do this & it has 3 reasons.
A: USA is promoting democracy & India is No.1 in that in the world. So, any thing done against India, given its presence world status, only precipitate more enemies of USA.
B: Second & big reason is, USA is not wanting a communist state like china show its hegemony in world affairs like him. So, india is promoted Or become a friend, china can be controlled & its hegemony or primacy will remain intact. The next reason is, the depleting economy of uSA can be controlled for another 30-40 years due to economic generation due to this (what does it matter if uranium is used as reactor or in bomb making, if money is there). Hence America did this to fool others, only to make his/its own advantages/interests. Again india is going to be a great R&D centre & brain hub of world in next 10-20 years, which a wise like america cann't igno

But despite this, india govt. not being self-conratulatory, put all records with relating to that in parliament for discussion, so that if there is any lacunae in it, it can be rectified to secure our interest & if there is anything required in it, then showing parliament resolution to usa, india can put pressure over him to delete unacceptables.

Something behind China softening stand
by indiman on Aug 08, 2007 02:38 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

If China has softened its stand this is certainly not a good deal. This deal does not reflect the stature of India today as the worlds largest democracy, second fastest growing economy, trillion dollar economy, established nuclear weapons power, expert in full fuel cycle for both electricity and weapons development. That is all I can say about this deal. For people who think this is a god deal they just dont know where India is today.

What kind of democracy to we have now? A person with all kinds of criminal cases could become President of the country; culprits who are demolishing/destroying other properties could become Ministers; culprits who massacared hundreds of people could escape from the punishments; criminals who create all kinds of riots/terrorism could enjoy all the freedom instead of getting punished. If we say all these are "Democracy", we should bow our head down with shame. "Second fastest growing economy" - what nonsense is this? there are still thousands of villages which dont have any basic needs like power, water, medical, road, etc; there are thousands of farmers are dieing every year; cost of living is going up to touch the sky; common man cant live peacefully; poor becomes much poor while rich become more rich; if we say all these are meant "fast growing economy", then, we really dont know the meaning of "Economic development". "Trillion dollar economy" - are we talking about all the black money these politicians and businessmen having in their swiss bank account? OR are we talking about all the big shopping malls in the metro cities while forgetting the poor villages around the country? What kind of media hype is this? Hello guys, wake up, dont live in the dreams, India mean not only Mumbai, Chennai, Delhi and Bangalore alone; think about all those rural areas which still are not yet developed and way behind 20-30years still.

Go for the Deal.....
by RamRamRam on Aug 08, 2007 02:34 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

India must go for the deal. We need lot of energy in coming years. Waiting for our scientist to come up with a solution to use Thorium can be very costly. We can do this development in parallel while getting help from USA. The 123 agreement does not stop our research work on Fast Breeder reactors.

As I have mentioned in my earlier message, the politicians are crying only to get their pie of bribe and nothing else.

The Left party is a curse for Development of India. These guys are Anti India and Pro China. Shame on West Bengal and its current generation. They have voted for this Dirty party for the past 3 decades and there was no improvement in any department in this State. This State has added so much value for our country before the Left came to power.

Also India has to deal with two big monsters which we do not have much control.

1. Islamic Terrorism and
2. Aggression of China.

Only USA can help us to contain these two monsters......

with greater american presence on the indian scene, the traditional american anti-india policy will be buried for good as commonality of outlook will become clear to both sides in no time. this in itself is a huge gain. this agreement will bring both countries together, and both have very powerful cultures. hopefully the hindus will learn good things from usa. hopefully, the americans won't learn the hindu corrupt ways.

it is not Left parties who are selling India; did we forget how good our previous BJP Government released all the terrorist from the prison and External Minister Jashwanth Singh escorted them to Afgan? Do we forget how good this Congress Government in killing the local industries by allowing foreigners to loot the country? did we forget how our Governments allowed Enron to escape after looting the country? All the political parties are same in looting the country and no difference at all.

stop this madness and paranoia
by Abhishek Banerjee on Aug 08, 2007 01:32 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

See the Americans have their compulsions... but they have really gone out of their way to accomodate India in this deal... with a "no hindrance clause" and all that. Technically, America can ask for the fuel back.. but they have to meet several triggers for that... also the US has "committed" to the lifetime operation of any reactor set up with American fuel. Try to give up antti-american paranoia and look at the world. I understand some people are fearing that we will get backstabbed by the US. There are 4 things one should consider
1) There is a perception that the US is "opportunistic". Hey guys... chill out... who is not opportunistic? India herself came up with the slogan "hindi chini bhai bhai" what abt that bonhomie now? When the USSR collapsed, which was the first nation to turn its back on them... India.. all nations are "opportunistic".

2) This is the FIRST real deal between India and the US and still it has taken place rather amicably.. the alliance is just 3 yrs old... give it a chance

3) everyone needs allies, both India and the US and anybody with any sense of geopolitics can see that India-US is the most natural tie up here. People make knee jerk statements like "the US will stop supply" as if the US will do so just for fun!!! What US interest will it serve if China becomes a superpower and India stays weak and helpless..
4) The economy is already open and from all moral standpoints, it is advisable to open it further.

Maybe the left is covertly presenting China's agendas.China is surprisingly positive about the whole thing ...which may as well be a show, and maybe be carrying out its own dirty work through our left parties by buying them out...
