A politician is a beggar. He makes a crore in his costituency of 10 Lakh. Or at the national level, he may fudge a 100 crore from our 'janta' of 120 crore. All in all, all bribes amount to no more than a 1000 crore, thats Rs 10 per person. Thats beggary, not 'LOOT'. This is why ppl are so tolerant of politicians, but intolerant of thieves who steal say a LAKH from one particular person's hard earned saving.
There has to be balance in quantum of punishment awarded. How much time do you waste in office ? After all time is money and when you waste time, you waste national resources! AND MONEY! So w are all criminals!

a corrupt india is a fertile ground for terror and external manipulation - all it takes is money. one way to regain control of india is to divide it up into two different administrations: one for south india and other the north. there is no reason why the south must suffer just because the north is incapable of changing its corrupt chaotic ways.

I agree with this ... I think south and west are the only productive regions in India...they were better off on thier own. Hope this happens soon.

These south Indians don't how to stay united. They are part of the same country and saying some stupid stuff like this. Corruption is not only limited to north India, south India has plenty of corrupt ppl too like Jayalalitha and Karunanidhi. The list is endless. think of uniting India not dividing it.
