Over all A Good Deal
by Lalatendu Deo on Aug 05, 2007 05:46 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Seeing in the perspective of the quantum of energy requirement, it is good that the Deal is through. Only its honest implementation is required.

Is it possible to get a Big Loan without any security or Interest? We must see the Deal in totallity. The point is as to whether we could have avoided such a deal.

I think it was very much necessary for agumenting our energy needs, at medium term and long-term scenario. And without having any creditable expertise to produce so much energy in a forseeable future, the deal was required.

The current Nuclear Deal between India and USA is a big TRAP. look what happend next, just wait couple of year and the whole world will how india stuck badly with USA so called nuclear deal. USA started all with Iran so that they could spread fear of IRAN in arab world to start sale military equipment.

By glancing over the text, one can not say that there will be any big problems. And we can dig faults in every such deals. The point is if we stick to such things, we will only be doing that. There will be no progress anywhere.

We need a huge energy, and we can not suppliment the same from the available sources. We have depleating coal reserve and we can not go for mege dams. Do you have any other source? Tell me?

If we see those traps, we have to negotiate accordingly. Why are you so pessimistic about not being able to see us through?

no, its not a trap. there are well laid out provisions for either of the party to walk out of the deal with a years notice.

yes it could be a trap if we start depending on it for granted and don't take any measures to seek other sources of energy or say we become lazy and do not develop our own thorium based nuclear reactor technology.
