I think all must read this article (views of Muslim ex-terrorist) that appeared in a Pakistan Daily. It makes for interesting reading and answers many questions that have periodically and consistently been raised in the discussion board.
My request is please read it and this should be a good topic for an intellectual debate.
Also, we must know and assume that there will be some misguided chaps who would try to degenerate the debate by using abusive language. We must learn to just ignore them. I invite all decent Human beings (including muslims)to come forward and participate on this topic. It may help us to collectively understand the Root Cause of Terrorism.

Well I think this only substantiates what we all already know or are talking about. Only thing is that it is the first time a Muslim has openly accepted it.
I believe, the solution to this should come from fellow Muslims only who have been fiercely claiming that Islam is a peaceful religion. It may be peaceful but there are major elements of violence and bloodshed in it which needs to be examined. But if they are in a constant state of denial & want to push everything under the carpet then nothing will work.They need to do it for the sake of their religion as today it has been hijacked by the Wahabi School of thought.
The problem with Islam perhaps is that Muslims r not allowed to question its writing. Anything against the Quran or the Prophet is considered blasphemy. I should think that A religion will come out stronger if its contents are discussed and debated as Weeds and deadgrass can then be removed much like what has happened to Christianity and Hinduism.
Another thing that I strongly feel is that the muslim world should stop relating everything to Islam and stop cribbing that they r being discriminated bcoz they r Muslims. Problems in Kashmir,Iraq, Palestine, Iran, Pak & Afghanistan r political problems & not attacks on Islam as some people have said to hijack the religion and justify their acts of terrorism.
