Guys... why is this drama going on??? The guy committed a crime & is getting punished for it... i seriously dont understand why make an issue out of what is he doing in jail... next news item will be how he sneezed & how many times did he visit the loo etc etc...

To keep an weapon without license is crime for which he suffered 18months why should he had to wait for 14 years and why 6 years could be less though judge said he is not terrorist I think this is not fair.

He also have underworld contacts and he was one of the player in mumbai bomb blast who supplied the weapons to terrorist

Despite of having lot of pressure from politicians, high profile personalities, Underworlds, you have shown all India that judicial system exist as is not Maibapp of any high profile personality.
This is a good lessons for persons like Mr. Venkat krishnan who feels that role of such storekeeper is normal.

There is no point in comparing Mahatma Gandhi's Jail stay to Sanjay Dutt's as the earlier went for patriotism and the later is there for terrorism.
Guys its easy to blame others. But if you are in sanjay's situation and what ever ghandhian you are . you will surely go to SC. and he has done nothing wrong. he has neither used the wepons nor lent to an underworld. 6 yrs is too mush for his role in 93 blast. ppl who have posted here would have done something wrong in their won life. and some might have even done a big crime. thing is its not seen by our judisiary. if ur caught for license and if you give some money to police its also a crime. but you are not caught by the indian law. so give others a chance and dont talk wrong abt anyone.

i dint mean that but the amount of punishment should be properly given to the accused. a person who had AK 56 but destroyed the weapon without hurting anyone severs 6yrs and a person who hearts a ppl in an accident or does a murder gets very lesser sentense comparatively

Tell me one thing Venkat, if you or I would have kept the Ak57 at our home then what have happened to us? I am pretty sure that our entire family would have suffered including the distant relatives, sanjay is in much much better stage.

But in this case if that is other than dutt would have got 10 years imprisonment. we dont know much about law and how it works. but judiciary worked out to give less punishment under the particular law. lets hope for good india from here, now onwards politician, police and businessmen sons will think twice before do any crime. please don't take stand on him because he acted in munnabhai. even i liked that movie. and dont worry this guy will come out by bail in few days.
He is not the only person to have have illegal weapons. Raid the local politicians or any ordinary street fighter or gangster in UP or Bihar, they all have country made guns and illegal weapons, so whats the difference. Sanjay got it from the Underworld suppliers and the others get it from unknown sources. Sanjay had no direct involvement in the 93 Blast. If ordinary pick pocketers use a switch knief, then a person like Dutt has Ak-56.

Boss, issue is and never was weapons. Weapon is just the legal technality. Point is - He knew about the Bomb Blast plot. He let terrorists keep their truck at his house for one night. Though there was no direct involvement, but he had an idea what people he was dealing with were going to do.
