Dutt's imprisonment did not spare anybody even Mr.Shenoy himself....
by on Aug 02, 2007 09:30 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

All said and done, a clever article to top the writers rank from Mr.Shenoy...I wonder why the writer, inspite of his awareness about the oil prices and inflation, chose to write about Sanjay Dutt... I think this should answer the focus of the media in general..

Well written

- but do you honestly think he is not a role model for all what you say? He's got a much bigger impact, Mr. Shenoy. In spite of everything, can you honestly argue that he hasn't reformed and he isn't on a better path? What good are you doing by sentencing him back to Prison? Yes, nobody is above the law, but what kind of stupid law sends him to jail and isolation instead of exploiting his status as a celebrity and using him as an example of how a bad-guy turned good by sentencing him to community service instead? Or oops - does our judicial system doesn't cater to that?

You are probably suggesting 2 laws. One, if you are the common man and another one if you are a celebrity. So, imprisonment if you are the common man and community service if you are a celebrity! Sounds rational?!!

what the heck...
by Himalaya on Aug 02, 2007 09:18 PM  Permalink

Why the heck are disputing that the judgement is correct or not. Ofcourse, it has to be correct. Because mountains of fact are produced before the judge and nobody knows better than the judge. Guys, first learn to respect the judiciary system.

It is indeed very well written..Mr Shenoy is writing about Mr Sanjay Dutt, only to make us realise that there are better things to worry about-things which will affect us in daily life.Agreed Police and the judiciary system havent yet worked to their full mark, but why criticise the work which they do? atleast they are doing something. And not to forget..next time, be it a star or any celebrity, everyone will remember the fate of Mr Sanjay Dutt and act accordingly.

Its all rubbish
by Asha on Aug 02, 2007 09:04 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I agree that he did a blunder by keeping the weapons with him but he certainly don't deserve 6 years of jail. Though iam not a great fan of sanjay dutt, i would say this article is rubbish. First of all, let me tell you Mr. WRITER, sanjay dutt is NOT responsible for the Mumbai Blasts. He has been sentenced only because he had the guns with him and destroyed them later, and this event cannot be related to the Mumbai blasts. We all have sympathy with the families of the victims who died but it doesn't mean that we should go against those people who are innocent as in this case Sanjay Dutt who has cleared all the charges of being a terrorist last year itself.
And since sanjay dutt is a great actor as well as a great human being, i would say every fan of his, want to know about his welfare in the jail and thus we want to know that what sanjay dutt wears or eats in the jail.

when were u born Ms. Asha. Please read the newspapers after 1993 bomb blasts which shows how sanjays house was exclusively used for terrorist activities and why he shooed away police protection given to him before the blasts?? All these evidences were later destroyed to dilute the case against him because the then govt also supported him. Remember hsi father was and sister is a politician now. Even after destroying facts and all he got 6 years imprisonment shows that how much the sentence would have been if all the charges were proved against him you fool!!!

u think its all rubbish? If yes then what about the thousands of people who died in the blasts? Sanjay Dutt may be a great actor for you but just for that nobody can be given sympathy ignoring the fact that he was possessing the GUN. There were proofs for that.WAKE UP PEOPLE AND STOP BEING INSANE

Don't just say GUN. He kept AMMUNATION (AK57, HANDGRANIDE etc) in his house which later used by TERRORISTS. Faith of those ammunation is unknown yet. Just acting and making others FOOL mr Sanjay Dutt, Jail is the Right place for you.

Thanks MR KODHE.

Make an effort to accept reality. I agree with TVR Shenoy article. Atleast he has the guts to talk about the phony media euphoria that was hanging around Sanjay Dutt. My request to rediff is not to publish in the next article " Sanju baba taking the job of a carpenter in Jail".

Stupid Asha, The writer is correct, What kind of role model this guy is ..? Using drugs, buying illegal arms..?, maintaining links with anti-india, anti-social elements. Even after getting involved in the case he maintained links with underworld. He may not be a terrorist but he certainly has links with terrorists who killed 100s of indians.

Arey Ashaaaaa, cant u understand. if a prostitue stays in ur home and do business with ur knowledge, can u say that u don't have anything to do with it? What you are going to do. will u keep the prostitue at ur home and gangsters come n visit ur home often whenever they want,
FYI, the above example is ok. think abt keeping weapons which are being used by other ppl to kill 500 ppl in mumbai.

I WISH N PRAY GOD TO PUT YOU IN THAT 500.

PPL LIKE U R SHAME TO THIS COUNTRY.

DO YOU KNOW THAT NEARLY 40 GRENADES WERE PUT IN HIS HOUSE. FIRST KNOW THE FACTS N COME GIVE SCRAP U SCRAP MINDED...

Ms. Asha, do you know what would have happened to YOU had YOU kept AK 56 and hand grenades in your house and made the company of Dawood and Anis Ibrahim. You would have got minimum of life sentence and more maybe on a TADA charge.

Please introspect on what you are saying in support of this foolish Sanjay (34 years old at the time of crime).

I am a big Sanjay Dutt and Sunil Dutt fan but there is one question you have to ask yourself, what if it was you instead of him who got arrested for keeping arms? Will any judge let you go easy for being a clerk/shopkeeper/govt employee/call center employee etc...No and that is why 6 years is good for Sanjay Dutt. This atricle is a very good read and a very refreshing take on the whole story. Kudos.

I guess the sentence was too harsh on him.During riots in Bombay the scene was really scary and especially Shiv Sainaiks were coming in huge mob and targeting individual people.Did you know that during riots there were MP causght by police with all swords and arms in private vehicle but all were let of because of poltical pressure.Do you recollect the situation in Gujarat where Congress MLA was burnt to death inspite of Police commisioner visiting the colony and left them to fight thier own battle with mobs and rioters.Under such situation a AK56 rifle could have created some fear among rioters and safeguarded them.He had incently acquired the same for his familys safety only because law and order situation of this country is in dogs
