Spending more time at home???
by sumit bose on Aug 02, 2007 03:43 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Article is promoting the idea of "Spending more time at home" but with the appreciating rupee that seems to be a distant dream. Companies are talking of increasing productivity(read increase the number of work hours to 10 hrs!!) with stalwarts like NRN endorsing it!!!!
Those who marry...my best wishes are with you!!!

It seems only people in Bangalore work in IT in India. Let us not blame an industry or profession for personal incompetence. No other city but Bangalore complains of impotency. So it seems it is the problem of people rather than the industry.

appreciating of rupee mean, you are going to better if you live in india. your currency is more valuable.

if depreciation is the only way to earn, let government depreciate rupee to 1 USD = 450000 INR
then you need to work for 10 mins only in a week.

Problem of Plenty...
by rajesh on Aug 02, 2007 03:43 PM  Permalink

In the It field, everything is in plenty... Salary, Work load, facilities at work place, stress, peer competition... the real problem is people are not getting enough time for family and socialising.. This has resulted in extra ....affairs at work places and breakiing-up of families. Also, women have become self reliant earning fact salaries... this also puts a lot of strain in the family affair..

Divorces
by Ramkishan on Aug 02, 2007 03:43 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Its is sheraly depend upon the willingness and upbringing of the person to priortise the events and happening in the life . Lack of braoder prospect of life and basic ethics to live life are missing in young carrier oriented women which definately takes them way to divorce . In addition to that antidowery acts like 498A allows them to make money through settlemment .. These Divorces are nothing to do with IT Boom in Banglore ...It is more of Ego and extreme ambitious or carrer persuing attitude of young girls ...

work from home
by LAKSHMI GS on Aug 02, 2007 03:40 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I think the best solution would be to allow people to work from home and have them attend the office 1-2 days a week. This will greatly solve the problem i beleive.

Lakshmi mam i guess u r new to IT field so you are speaking like this. Do u really think company will allow u to work from home for 3-4 days a week. Fact is that, an employee works in office during normal hours and then work from home till late night....

then there will be Population problem. I think the divorces are increasing becasue the differences in the attitudes, If both are career orineted, this i going to happen, there is no stop for that. Atleast now people are trying to live for themselves instead compromising with life.

This is inevitable
by shrikant hegde on Aug 02, 2007 03:38 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

This phenomenon of more couples wanting separation is not confined to IT sector alone. The principal reason is that the girls of the present era are finding themselves independant with finacial security. It is then obvious that they strive for a life better than what the girls of yester era had. No more are they willing to accept lesser attention from their partners. In comparison, the girls of previous era silently suffered.

The issue is not different to the husband and wife working as doctors, not finding time to warm each others. Even in medical fields too cases of separation are significant. IT is relatively a new field and suddenly attracing such hypothesis in new colours.

Yes, I agree to a degree that some girls suffered in the hands of their partners in the yester year. Some Boys too suffered in the hands of a girl. Yet, the divorce was never an alternative.
In the current times, however, both girls and boys are suffering mentally for one or the other reasons, quite predominantly due to the other partner being relatively less passionate or not understanding.

No chauvinistic approach please !!

work culture
by minisha on Aug 02, 2007 03:37 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

i think whether it's IT or any other profession the work culture is to be blamed.a rule should be imposed no work after office hrs and see the situation will change automatically. One person starts woking late hrs and then others are compelled to sit late.in short this IT culture has spoiled the whole enviorn lae hrs working no family life and inflation because these people can afford other ppl have to suffer
