Hindu groups are fast learning fanaticism from Minority groups. Ideally, no books/films should be banned. But...
Ideally, no book should be banned. But its Indian Politicians who selectively give in to organised pressure, violence particularly from minorities which created this mess.
Even a world famos movie like "Da Vinci Code" was banned in many states even after Indian Supreme Court gave verdict for its showing.
One Movie theater was attacked in Hyderabad by Missionaries.
Many state Govts banned it to appease Xtian groups.
In states like Kerala, Missionary Groups worked below radar and stopped its showing.
The way Muslims react to anything remotely connected with Islam./Prophet is well know and needs no elaboration.
UNLESS POLITICIANS STOP PAMPERING MINORITIES, ITS SHIV SENAS WHO WILL GAIN FROM THESE INCIDENTS.

THANKFULLY WESTERN COUNTRIES TAKE STRONG POSITION. AND THUS THEY ARE RELATIVELY FREE. DA VINCI WAS A BIG HIT IN THE WEST.
HOWEVER IT WOULD BE INTERESTING TO KNOW WHAT WOULD BE THEIR REACTION IF THEY COME TO KNOW MANY INDIAN STATE GOVTS BANNED "DA VINCI CODE".

many indian states banning da vinci code is just one more proof that the population of christans is rising in India. Unless the hindu social system is reformed, more and more people are bound to get alianated and convert to other religions.
As a person of Maratha descent even I am amazed that people are so up in arms about this whole issue. I too am a big fan of the Shivaji fables that were narrated to me repeatedly by my parents and relatives so that I would have a little bit of Maratha pride in me as I grew up American. I have also visited most of the forts all over Maharashtra and to this day remain in awe of all that I have seen. However as an adult who ascribes to objectivism, I am also aware that a lot of historical characters have goods and bads to them and that the stories I loved as a child were after all fables. This however does not change the fact that Shivaji is and will remain one of the single most exciting characters of Indian history.

Why is it that everything is a "war on Hinduism" to you?
There is nothing in this book that attacks hinduism, it merely highlight the real life story of a prolific historic character.
Also, you keep ranting about Christians, at least they have the maturity to investigate historical aspects more objectively. Nor do they riot for silly things.

Why can't this RSS fanatic Pradip parekh speak the truth for once? Sankarachriar of kanchi was humilated , abused & jailed by none other than brahmin protector jayalalitha jayaram. She even accused him of selling drugs. This is a fact that can be verified any time any where. But Pradip says that the arrest was due to kirastani pressure. I might be a rationalist but I can't stand RSS hypocracy & lies ! This lie is ample evidence of the extent to which the RSS liars will stoop to. To add insult to injury jayalalitha beat up & jailed the RSS/Vhp supporters who demonstrated out side the Chennai High court. What does this guy have to xay for that? So the minorities & dalits are the scape goats for the brahmins. Do what ever you want & blame it on the minorities or dalits! No wonder these guys & their parties are being treated like out castes by the dalits and BC's now!
Silver and Play are 2 katuve, who are spreading ant-Shivaji propaganda in this forum. Those two b******s and people who support that book should understand that same thing goes to Satenic verses and lajja, The book written on Shivaji has no proofs for the content where as S.V and Lajja are based in real life incidents
No book should be banned. Let the book sell. If people do not like it, they will not buy it. Instead, allow all books that have been banned till date in India. First and foremost allow Satanic Verses to sell. Alas! Shiv sena will rather ask about banning the shivaji book, rather than lifting restriction on Satanic Verses.

exactly man, these people who opposes this are from the sangh. Infact the Truth is beautifully portrayed in that book. Making Shivaji a hero and Aurangazeb a vilan all these years the Sangh Parivar was giving mis information to indians. Now the Truth has finally emerged. Bravo.
The people who talk about respecting the Supreme court judgement about hanging of afazal are the same people who are opposing the judgemnt of the supreme court when it comes to this book about shivaji and when it is against shivaji than no need to respect the law of the land and supreme court.
All double standards by the Sangh - Wake up know the truth and seek the truth.
