All said about his tenure. Still dirty politics decide these and unfortunately people dont. We never learn on our mistakes.
Wish constitutional amendment is done to vest President with more powers than the politicians and his post not being decided upon by political parties. These have been the chronic headache for our great BHARATH.

Why waste our time and efforts in petition. Does it matter whether it is Kalam or Laloo? Would it make any difference to either India's stature in world politics or to the common man on the streets?

Yes it does. Social transformation can happen only slowly. It cant happen overnight. Dr. Kalam meets the young students and encourages them to dream and act. It only by forging the iron in its molten state can u make a shape out of it. Not by hitting it when its cold and hard. Dr. Kalam will make a difference..
Kalam truly deserves II term but CONGRESS and criminal Communists do not want this. Shame on CONGRESS and COMMUNISTS. If they fail to elect Dr APJ KALAM then WE WILL NEVER VOTE FOR THEM....
In every elections all Indians will KICK there @$$es.
Dr. Kalam has been the best President of India. he has motivated the youth and school kids. He realises the importance of moral values and the significance of young generation. THERE IS NO POLITICIAN that can even come close to Dr. Kalam.
Communists had never supported Dr. Kalam. Not even Last time.
It is now responsibility of Congress to prove that they are not cronies of communists.

very true. Is it possible to start a petition campaign where faxes can be sent to Sonia gandhi and Manmohan singh to put pressure them for Kalam's re-election.
I have been/ am an ardent supporter and fan of a visionary like Mr.Kalam. We have seen many presidents who have been mere puppets. He is one guy who has been preaching to the youngsters to be more informative and do more for the country. Compare his achievements towards the nation against pathetic people like Jail Singh etc.
I dont see a reason why he does not deserve a second term. His achievements so far might not be quantifiable now. But the seeds he is sowing as an proud idol in the minds of young indians will certainly show out some day or other.

We never miss a chance to claim as great 'race'. But we are the thankless lot. I can not forget the time when i used to travel with single digit $ exchange in my pocket to different shores to take up an assignment. Most Airline staft used to treat our country men/women almost like dirt. To day all the powers that be stand on the roof top and shout about the great Indian growth, trying to take credit by some means.
But the true credit goes to Narasima rao who choose capable visionaries like manmohan singh and Chidambaram as members of his team to name a few. The least we cold do was to remember narasima rao. Our system did all it could to mud sling at his integrity, and even on his death denied him the due place of buriel and sent him back to his place!! That was our thankfulness.
Now Dr. kalam, made us proud indirectly to keep our chest up and chin in, when even an ordinary indian goes overseas for a job, how ever menial it could be. What will be give him as a token of gratitude? Just dump him back to his home, and put up a - - - - - - - - - - - - politician at the apex position. We can go back quite a few steps. That is exactly what we deserve, as a great 'race'
I admire Mr.Kalam as a great scientist and as human being. But I dont understand what he has done to nation as a president. He can do more to nation if he stays away from politicians like being a prof/mentor.

The president is the figurehead of the country. He represents the country abroad, he mentors the three arms of the constitution. He is the compass...
Moreover a good manager keeps the enthusiasm of his group high and gives them vision.. he sets targets and encourages them to achieve it. Sometimes these targets might appear unachievable - but neverthless he sets the benchmark.
Dr. Kalam has done exceedingly well in all these repects - inspite of his limited powers. He is no doubt one of the best (if not the best) presidents we have had.

If Indian consitution restricts Dr.Kalam to become President for IInd term, then it has to re-written. Anyways, our constitution was nothing original in first place, it was just copied from constiutions of different nations.

Dr. Kalam is the best president in my view. it is sad that political parties are opposing his II term
