People Power!
by Dara Acidwalla on Jun 19, 2007 12:10 PM  Permalink

Friends,

Let them know what the people of India think
(not that our political pumpkins will listen to us,
but it will be an eye opener for us).

Go to:
http://www.rediff.com/news/president07.html

and tell the Electoral College, who they should
vote for as your next President!

Thank you.

Mr.Kalam......Tamilnadu is eagerly waiting for you....
by Senthil Raja on May 04, 2007 02:54 PM  Permalink

I am sure, he will continue his visionary service to the country, even if he is not made as a President of India 2nd Time.

B'cos, he is not a Politician who gives wrong commitments to the public to get vote and then becomes a minister and doing only 1% of what he promised..... Kalam is not expecting single paise from any of the people to do his service.

SO... it's not necessary to make him as a president again.... so that he'll come to our Tamil Nadu, and serve for the country from here.

2nd Term for Kalam
by Mr kumar on May 04, 2007 09:55 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Dr. Kalam should give another chance unanimously... He has the power to motivate the younger generation....and he did that... India needs people like Kalam, TN Shasan, Kiran Bedi, Lingdo... and so on.... Not like Sonia, Karat, Rahul, Mulayam, Lalu.... all waste fellows... Ofcourse these are all good for politics and for the development of India. These political people are fit for nothing except politicizing each and everything whatever they come across.

Constitution should give some powers to President to act directly himself, without listening to Prime Minister or any other Political people.

Vijay

2nd Term for Kalam
by Prof.Podades on May 02, 2007 04:22 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Rashtrapathi Bhavan is a cosy place and no one would like to vacate it and try to enjoy the glorified prominence for long & long. But, we should have the policy of getting fresh blood after the appointed 5-year tenure and there is no dearth of Genuine Worthies. We had a lot of hope on Kalam & had expected the scientist in him to mobilise & motivate citizens with a National Vision free from corruption, impose quick punishments to culprits, set in strict discipline in every facet of country's life etc. but nothing has happened except occasional big talk before kids.

I am not averse to second term: President Kalam
by Buttanna S on May 01, 2007 06:26 PM  Permalink

being apolitical and non-controversial, President Kalam has brought certain amount of respectability to the presidency. He has been quite dynamic without overtly clashing with the governament, active in his selected areas interacting with the school children, youth, industrial & science circles; he has also been actively participating with the armed forces visiting their areas whether Siachen (where few people want to go), flying the MIG or diving in the submarines.

It is not surprising that seudo secular parties like the CPM, Congress who have a lot of vested interests, do not want an independent thinking man as President.

We need Muslim Prime Minister and Muslim Army Chief along with Muslim President Kalam!!!
by Awaara Uncle on May 01, 2007 06:23 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

You are right. Next we must have a Muslim Prime Minister and Army Chief as soon as possible. As you know, dear friends, Bollywood actor Naseeruddin Shah's elder brother Lt Gen Zameer Uddin Shah was appointed the Deputy Chief of Army Staff, Indian Army on Oct 1st 2006. But what we really need is a Muslim Prime Minister along with a Muslim Army Chief. Perhaps Ghulam Nabi Azad could be a good puppet Muslim Prime Minister like Sikh puppet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Once we have a Muslim President, Muslim Prime Minister as well as a Muslim Army Chief - all the the same time simultaneously, it will be nice fun to watch the reactions of both Pakistanis as well as Sangh Parivar. Oh what fun it will be my friends!!!

And if we can also get a Muslim Chief Justice of India along with a Muslim Attorney General of India, along with a Muslim Defence Minister and a Muslim leader of opposition, nothing like it. Sangh Parivar and Pakistani reaction will be worth watching because even this happens, the skies will not fall down and nothing much will change. India will still remain as it is.

Hopefully we must also have a Muslim Intelligence Bureau Chief as well as a Muslim Research & Analysis Wing Chief, just to complete the whole spectrum!!! Meanwhile, let us hunt for a Muslim Air Force Chief as well as a Muslim Navy Chief. Nothing earth-shattering will happen and the heavens will not fall down. India will still not win any cricket matches and will remain underdeveloped as it is right now, irrespective of whether illiterates or PhDs of ANY religion become President or PM or Army Chief!!! Of course, we can keep on boasting about 10 per cent GDP growth for 15 per cent of our population, when vast majority doesn't get even good drinking water and literacy. What is the use of celebrating 60 years of Independence when much of our countrymen live at sub-Saharan levels of malnutrition? What is the use of going to space and moon. Why are we not building infrastructure? Why are we not wiping out illiteracy? Why is it that we never win Oscars and Olympic gold medals? Why is it that we even lose cricket matches? When will we stop discriminating on caste lines and then like hypocrites ask for reservations on "ECONOMIC" criteria, when we know very well that discrimination in India is based on CASTE and not ECONOMICS? Why should municipal schools and rural panchayat schools not have good English medium schools? Can we ever hope to make India a BPO superpower or real IT superpower without English? Will we ever be able to conduct nuclear research and space research in Hindi or Tamil or Kannada? Why don't we simply cut out the crap and solve REAL problems in a logical manner? We don't do that because we are the biggest hypocrites on Planet Earth, who are insensitive to other human beings and countrymen. Nobody is bothered about shitting and spitting on the streets openly. But we have a problem with sex education, public kissing and couples holding hands in public. Indian languages are not going to get us anywhere, but we insist on ramming them down the throats of our countrymen. We are still saying Angrezi Hatao, while Chinese are desperately learning English and it is our own NIIT and Aptech which is teaching it to them. We claim to be IT superpower - but we are just a cooliepower and IT SWEEPERPOWER which cannot even develop a HINDI language browser. I think some Norwqay-based company called OPERA made the first Hindi browser. Why are we Indians deluding ourself all the time and living in a fantasy world of a MAAYALOKA??? When will we face reality, stop bullshitting ourself and solve our problems???

Dear Friends,

Why to waste so much time for searching Muslim PM, COAS, CNS, CAF, IB, CJ etc. ? To show that we are a secular nation imeediately make a rule that all constitutional heads must be a muslim. India will become a jannat. Rest can go to hell.
