Not saying that one is derived from another, but there are striking commonalities (between sanskrit, latin and other ancient languages) and i feel it cant be mere co-incidence.

Indian culture / Values = A culture of hypocricy, sex supression, dressing like an fool, lying, cheating, dishonesty, bragging, status symbolism, and then thinking you are a superpower !.
I am sure you dont wear dhoti kurta . after all this is indian culture too.

Really nice to hear that the language of gods is revered in other countries.Government should include Sanskrit in the Humanities departments of all IITs and NITs.Without knowing Sanskrit, one can never expect to learn the cultural roots of India.

Ramandeep, don't take it literally!! Since Sanskrit is India's mother language and since lot of our country's history is recorded in that language, it would be better to read it in original. Of course, today we have translations of all sanskrit texts - hence, we all know our cultural roots. But, as we all know, translations do have problems. Imagine reading Shakespeare translated in your mother tongue!! Thus, the idea here is not to undermine people who don't know sanskrit, but to emphasize the importance of it.

The Golden Sparrow.. INDIA !!! Sure every day we met number of such examples where we see that the golden days of our very own golden sparrow are coming back.
Yeh.. it is true, the dirty politics the curroption and the ill-utilization of natural resources are big hurdels, but the hardworking and dedicated work force of India, can't be stopped by such obstacles.

all messages appreciated. but, have we found solution towards child-abuse,mal nutrition, poverty, no water in many places, no rains, felling of trees, mem of parli who are taking others wives, famers suicide....lets then think abt other matters. my friends, common man is fighting for survival with basic needs.whats' language and heritage going to help them? its good to know other languages, but will it take of children working in hotels and other places because their parents are unable to educate them?
Mr. Abu Thomas, will all the problems will get solved if all Indians get converted to your religion ? if yes tell me how, then we will think on this issue, till then please dont talk of this type of idiotic problems u have mentioned which is irrelevant

dear mr.kumar, thanks for yr out of the world classy comments.i never mentioned abt any religion and any language does not belong 2 any religion.comments by resourceful person like u makes all other religions grow.please read again my msg- i have never commented against sanskrit- i have told the bare truths in day today india.anyway, thanks a lot for advertising about other religions
The poverty and the problems mentioned by you are existing in all the countries including US. Here we beg with bowl, there they beg with guitar, that is the difference. But people has to have pride on something. According to you the life goes around stomach, you are correct becuase you never studied our scriptures. Our scriptures say the stomach is for living but the world is about knowledge knowing one self. hence instead of shouting the empty slogan, please help the people around you, that is enough, no need of advertising about your help or writing like this.

Mr. Abu Thomas, you may be sponsoring those hindu kids by keeping an eye for converting them to your religion. If you would have helping those hindu kids from your heart without any desparity, you would not have used this silly platform to discontinue the same, This shows your pity mentality, a poor is poor, whether he is hindu or muslim or christanity
It is really a great honour for India when the Greek President greeted our president in Our language (Sanskrit).It is also proud to hear that he has learnt sanskrit ,but sad part is that we in India give very less importence for this great Language. I am seeing some PURITY defect in his breed/DNA here, may be he calling her mother 'BABE' and father 'DUDE' simply becoz any one of them must be non-indian and anti-indian!! Otherwise no PURE Indian will never ever say such words about the land where he born and brought up!

Hinduism is blamed because of the Bramhins especially the corrupt brahmins like Murthy. Not all the bramhins are like Murthy. In most of the TV Channels and in the columns, I ever watched and read, hinduism are blamed becuase of branmins. In hinduism branhins, dont drink alcohals, dont it non veg etc. and branhims are respectable people in hinduism, but now a days most of the branhins like Murthy are not said to be as I mentioned. That's the main reason people blame hinduism.

Mr.rkjack, murty's are from A.P, it is not necessarily that murthy belongs to brahmins, in my polytechnic class, i had one murthy but he belonged to BC 'D' group, so we cannot exactly say from which breed this murthy specimen is.

I appreciate your openness in replying to Anjali's views.
Sanskrit is a very rich, and scientific language, which has been appreciated by one and all. Even some researchers have mentioned that Sanskrit is highly suitable for Computer language.
Many of our slokas, devotional songs, are written in Sanskrit. In many temples the acharyas use this language to invoke God. Therefore it would be appropriate, and I also feel should be our duty to make sure that this language is not allowed to die in its mother land. In South we have Veda Patasalas where Vedas are taught to interested Children in Sanskrit. Similarly in many schools in the country, sanskrit is the first language and interested children can learn and practice it. Daily I listen to Vishnu Sahasranamam in Sanskrit and feel relieved and light. If I listen to Vishnu Sahasranamam in anyother language, I dont get such a feeling.
Therefore it is wrong to assume that we line in ancient times if we ensure that this rich language is not allowed to die in its country of birth. I trust you get my point.
