The Bitter TRuth
by m on Apr 29, 2007 02:17 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

We will vote for candidate from our caste only.
We don't care if he is corrupt/competent.
Because Hinduism is nothing but a covert mask of Casteism.

Give a chance to Dalits & Tribals.
by Rajesh Toppo on Apr 29, 2007 09:44 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Dalits and Tribals were never considered fit for administration for ages. Upper castes considered it their sole right to rule and enslave people for centuries in India. Democracy and efforts by B.R Ambedkar has ensured that Dalits and Tribals get their due to govern themselves and the state. The time has come for Dalits and Tribals to form their goverment and deliver some benefits to all and SC/ST population in general. Other communities supportive of Bahujan Samaj and also claim their stake in goverment. The world is watching to see changes in Indian society in ages.

Low voter turnout would make the turning point
by Senthil Gounder on Apr 26, 2007 01:15 PM  Permalink

I think, the low voter turnaround would favour mayawati. With dalit coming around 24 %, they are supposed to form more than 20 % in the 50 % voter turn around.

May 11 is eagerly expected..

BSP and Mayawati
by Ranjan Dash on Apr 26, 2007 12:01 PM  Permalink

Dear Friends I read all of your comments. But I think Mayawati is very smart by giving more tickets to upper caste and Muslims. She knew that she can get more than 70 seats if she sticks to only dalit votes. Thats why she chage her tricks. But she is leader who belives in use and throw politics. After all she is a dictator in nature. There is no democarcy in her party and upper caste people come to her for winning elections.

What do yo mean "If Dalits rule this country, India will no more be a democracy." ??

It will be true democracy if dalits are elected to the top posts. They will look after their community very well and help building a strong nation. I'm not supporting Mayawati as a person but in general every caste and community needs to have their own representatives. Thats the true sense of democracy. BTW, look at yourself first and see where do you fall in the original caste structure in the Hindu society. Look at yourself before commenting on others

Aryan means noble not race.Goutum buddha gave 8
arya path to attain nirvana.I have not seen one single dalit leader opening school college libraries in villages all they can give is reservation at the cost of others.

Dalit can rule if they deserve. I think they dersrve most in the present scenario. Mayawati is a good leader who has the ability to curb corruption. She deserve to be the Prime Minister of India. Do not think I am a dalit, I am a citizen of democrate country.

Sucking up to the BSP
by Jaganniwas Iyer on Apr 26, 2007 11:02 AM  Permalink

With the Congress about to confirm its position as a has been in UP - never mind Raul Maino Gandhi's fulminations - it seems the author is trying to create grounds for a backdoor power sharing arrangment with Mayawati, for 10 janpath. Keep dreaming, pal.
