We need few Chanakya to teach Political science and economics, who can ceate the future MLAs and MPs of India.
There are several couses for several types of Jobs, why there is no prerequesite of Knowledge level or degree for ruling this country.
Why not there be a mandatory clause on level of education from proper institution to be a MLA or MP?? (I mentioned proper institution becuase several MLAs and MPs have degrees like MA, BL, etc which are just bought by paying some fees).

Dear Dharmendra, I hope history doesn't repeat itself, or else hindus would have to go under exile in their own country for another 1000 years. I hope this university creates brave & intelligent people, and not some spineless people who would die in the name of ahimsa & watch their women & honor being raped and plundered.

It's gr8 news for the country. The country should rediscover ancient universities like Nalanda. They should definitely teach economics and political science.
If Nalanda university is making a come back then being Indian we should be proud. It will be a trememdous oppertunity for coming generation to study different subjects in world's one of the oldest and finest university. Very good proposal.

nalanda university anywhere other than in a lawless Bihar would no doubt be a great university.If it starts in godforsaken Bihar it will again be run as a personal fiefdom of a few, u know who?

don't be so cynical. Bihar is changing and this is why you are hearing this Nalanda News. How Nalanda can be established otuside Bihar when it's part fo Bihar? Would you dig the entire history with pillars of Nalanda physically out of there in some state and rewrite it??? Better see the things with positive glasses instead of goign monotonously and illogically negative and escapist. If you were so caring why not the central govenemtn and other state governments even tried to restart and restore it and do it first what Nitish Kumar and APJ Abdul Kalam has started? What Indian government did for past 60 years? And now when something positive is being done, jealousy erupts from other corners. In fact people are jealous of Bihar and Biharis always ebcuase they outperform all no matter from where they start! Your eyes see 15 years of misrule but not this grand glorious history of Bihar which is certainly much larger that those 15 years of misrule. Have an eye and sensibility. If 15 years of misrule can destroy Bihar then certainly 3000 years glory simply makes Biharis and ihar best of India..and perhaps this is why Biharis emerege victorious even in adversities because by default we have inherited every good and bad of bihar..be it 15 years os shame or 3000 years of glory.
it's gladdening to know that Bihar is finally moving out of the clutches of Laloo's misadministration and misrule and looking at developing the state. Only last week we heard about bihar's daughters fighting for an education. before that, the CM's talk about infrastructure facilities. and now, this plan to restore it's past glory. it's really heartening to hear it... kudos to the Nitish Kumar Government!!!
Nalanda University is not just the ancient university as you ahve written. On record it's the oldest university of world set up in 5 BC till the time it was burnt and destroyed by Mohammad Khilji who had killed 3500 monaks, pupils and professors completely destryoing the so ancient basket of civilization and world's first university set up by mauryan empire. It was Nalanda university which gad started the study and research int he field of todays many modern subjects like economics and geography, which defined the rise of Gupta's Empire with Samudragupta making India golden bird. Please don't call nalanda Oxford of east. It's Oxford which should be referred as Nalanda of West. Nalanda is goign to be a world heritage soon as UNESCO is sounding these days. Nalanda is a palce which harboured the pridest moments fo India and association with people like Lord Budhdha, World ruler Ashoka the great, Chanakya, Magadh Empire, Kalidas, father of mathematics Aryabhatt, Samudragupta, the great emperor who made India a godlen bird. All these people were from present day Bihar, a state which saw worst times of anarchy and political misuse in present day that nobody would believe that this very same Bihar had same history which defined india's most prestigious moments.
Now Nalanda University is again being set up where entire southeast asia including china japa, singapore,korea, sri lanka together with bihar government si coming up to set up the old history again. They plan to make it uniqe and only one university of it's type in world which will teach most advanced subjects as well as promote research with 1500 faculties of international level. It's a great honor to India and Indian government shoudl not sleep anymore now where whole world is coming to it with a committed Bihar government this time. We must thanks our president APJ Abul Kalam and Bihar chief minister Nitish kumar as this is their brainchild which has now become the project "Asia Unison", bringing asian countries so close and together and first time cosntructive, makign Nalanda a clear cut logo of world unity for harmony and constructive development. no doubt once made, Nalanda will again establish India back in the world map int he field of high end research and education. Even at the risk of secularism's hymen getting ruptured, you have brought to light as to who burnt down the Nalanda University massacring all its inhabitants. Good. I hope secular His-Storians do not cry "rape" and file a case against you because of this. It would also be worthwhile if someone can bring to light here the two `scholarly' questions that allauddin khilji asked before ordering its destruction.

Is it not a better idea to eradicate caste system first.......let us treat humans alike in the first place....and a religion or its off shoot andh-vishwaas which even permit human bali (child sacrifice cases still being reported and we talk of animal rights) needs a lot of overhaul to be able to fight any other religion....lets hope till the time comes
