I have seen in my little experience
by selva ganesh on Apr 23, 2007 04:05 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I have seen in my little experience (in life),

Two doctors, leading opthalmologist in the town, Govt hospital head, they both hail from SC/ST background.

It was good that they were given priorities in their lifetime, they have come up in their lives...

Now, they both are well off in status, money, and pride.

Now the most hurting issue is that, both the doctors have atleast 3 kids, sons & daughters each.

What they both were doing was, TO GET SEATS in PREMIER institutions for all of their sons and daughters. Now, 3 engineers, 1 lawyer, 2 doctors.

Just from those two DOCTORS' families.

Now, is it wrong that goverment gave its helping hand for the past (more than) 50 years, for socially background people?

Is it not still wrong that they use the-same-cause to OCCUPY the seats of meritorious students too, to the next generations, and further?

It hightime to stop RESERVATIONS, let the competition be a healthy one.

I was born under poverty line, and my parents had NO proper savings. Therefore, it was even difficult for us to get loan for my education.

Reserve seats for those who are meritorious, but financially poor.

Reserve seats for those who are sons and daughters of those who die in army, navy and airforce.

and above all, please, after getting those education, PLEASE START TO VOTE.

Let these morons like PMK, DMK, AIADMK, everyone be kicked out of power...

They just utilise the word DRAVIDIANS, and simply COLLECT VOTES from poor uneducated people.

it is what Ambedkar had feared after formation of our constitution--repeated reservation to families and this has reduced the no of sufferers---why because if sufferers reduce then all these parties would not manage votes and above all see THESE THAKUR TALUKDARS like VPSINGH ARJUNSINGH KARANSINGH who grabbed land of poor and became such rich and known as RAJAS r crying for reservation---is it a reality-NO NO NO as these sharks never helped poor and r a dangerous desease---cut them for ever-LALIT KUMAR

Friend Supreme Court is trying to enforce the same princciple in form of creamy layer. The Court want those who are above certain income & have already availed the benefit be exempted from reservation. The politicians & bureaucrats across the board however wants this to continue as this is the only way their chidren can make it to premier institutes.UPA has filed an affidavit in SC that if creamy layer concept is introduced than 75% seats will not be filled against reserved seats. This confirms the cotrie that is now controlling all benefits of reservation within reserved class & why they want it to continue even if that lead to death of merit in the nation.

UPA is playing to galleries
by pradeep agarwal on Apr 23, 2007 04:05 PM  Permalink

It is really shameful that this govt is for the sake of rank vote bank is making a mockery of Supreme Court.PM should either resign for misleading the court twice or ask the jaiChand of UPA(Arjun Singh ) to pack up & leave this goct for good. The SC should otherwise put him behind the bars for contempt of court.

I know that u did this to win minorities votes. By this verdict, u got a very good slap on ur face and also people lost the faith in u. Just be careful in the next few days.

We are loosing faith on this democratic country. This is the reason y people are escaping-out from this country to get peace of mind.

I did not know that everyone in rural India belong to OBC.
Why don't you ask the government to provide you a good primary and secondary education so that you need not need reservations?

Good, You can vote for one of the many other 'progressive parties': DMK ADMK, PMK, DMDK, MDMK, BJP etc who are " Very Rational" when it comes to reservations.

The only solution is to kick out the whole lot of them and banish them from India like may be Bangladesh has done to Sheikh Hasina and Khaleda Zia, followed by their full retinue.

Dear Janaswamy,

He is not bothered about your vote. He enacts laws and reservations for the people who votes him and keep him in Office. He draws political power from such people. Otherwise why do you think Mulayam, Mayawati, Lallu Yadav, and the Congress are all after these people?

Make Reservation Compulsary
by vinith varghese on Apr 23, 2007 04:04 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I think we should have job reservations in all the fields. I completely support the PM and all the politicians for promoting this. Let's start
the reservation with our cricket team. We should have 10 percent reservation for Muslims. 30 percent for OBC, SC/ST like that. Cricket rules should be modified accordingly. The boundary circle should be reduced for an
SC/ST player. The four hit by an OBC player should be considered as a six and a six hit by a OBC player should be counted as 8 runs. An OBC player scoring 60 runs should be declared as a century.
We should influence ICC and make rules so that the pace bowlers like Shoaib Akhtar should not bowl fast balls to our OBC player. Bowlers should bowl maximum speed of 80 kilometer per hour to an OBC player. Any delivery
above this speed should be made illegal.

Also we should have reservation in Olympics. In the 100 meters race, an OBC player should be given a gold medal if he runs 80 meters.
There can be reservation in Government jobs also. Let's recruit SC/ST and OBC pilots for aircrafts which are carrying the ministers and
politicians (that can really help the country.. )
Ensure that only SC/ST and OBC doctors do the operations for the ministers and other politicians. (Another way of saving the country..)
Let's be creative and think of ways and means to guide INDIA forward...
Let's show the world that INDIA is a GREAT country. Let's be proud of being an INDIAN..
May the good breed of politicians like ARJUN SINGH long live...

SC is great!
by Neo on Apr 23, 2007 04:03 PM  Permalink

Its a big snub to these jack ass OBC politicians of this country who have ganged up to bring this Racist quotas into place. The very fact that the govt is not even ready to remove the rich and the affluent OBCs from such quotas, shows whom this quota is intended for! Not the poor, not the downtrodden, not the hungry, but Vagabond sons and daughters of Laloo, Paswan and their ilk!

I hope Arjun singh resigns now. He has failed miserably. Anyways, the old man doesnt have much life left in him to continue with these racist policies.

I hope the SC also takes note of serious breach of Fundamental rights, due to these OBC reservations. Denying the right to education to a deserving candidate, just because he was born a Brahmin or some upper caste, is a serious violation of basic human rights guaranteed in the constitution. Infact, there is no basis for classifying any community as Backward CLASS. If people belonging to Lingayats and Gowda's in Karnataka, JATS in Rajasthan have been classified as OBCs, one wonders the basis on which these reservations have been determined!

Great judgement...there's still hope for India
by Biswajit Ghoshal on Apr 23, 2007 04:02 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

So long as the Judiciary is there to look at the things in a non-partisan and objective manner, the average Indian still has hope.

May Congressi Arjun Singh and company have some shame now, and stop trying to create vote bank.

Can a legal expert please take it up now, pin down Arjun Singh in a court of law and have him admit that quota can not be a tool for providing social justice and hence quota should be abolished totally, including the current 22%? Do we have such an honest legal expert and level headed person in India??
