Wonderful decision!!!!!
by dell shawn on Apr 23, 2007 04:30 PM  Permalink

Yaaaaahoooo!!!We salute the SC for such a smashing order. It is hoped that from now on, the politicians will keep their noses out of things that they don't understand - things like education and merit. They should stick to creating havoc in Parliament instead of havoc in our lives.

OBC quota
by Patric Tauro on Apr 23, 2007 04:29 PM  Permalink

The decision is correct. Let the government come up with fresh data on OBC's and then put up their claim. In 1991, the judgement by the apex court was keeping in mind the circumstances that existed at that time and there was no other way to cool the situation, other than accepting the 1934 data. The only mistake that the court made was not to direct the government to go in for fresh data and keep the order valid only until then.Unfortunately, it did not do this.Let the present government get fresh data and as in TN, if the OBC's have increased, let them have a bigger share. No need to restrict but let it keep out the creamy layer among OBCs.

Well myself being an OBC candidate and waiting for the IIM's results ,i am still happy that the SC has came out with such a wise decision. The right to equality should be judged with the amount of opportunities to excel and not by any reservation. This will be regarded as a win for the meritorious students.

The Pbm with our country from the 5th century is that great rulers tried to unity the sub continent but their attemts were destroyed by the invaders. Bharata, Ashoka etc and the various movements like Bhakti, Bhuddism, jainisn but all went in vain after the Nehru-Gnadhi came. First the Moghuls, then Brits, and finally there Nehru-Ghandi hav destroyed our unity and minds. God only can save Indai

Hi, Real facts. Please check out the history. India was most ruled by OBCS and SC/STs only a small part or small time India was ruled by Upper Castes. Adn about the education, Britishers destroyed our education systems. The SC/STs were excellent in Surgeries and other high tech in the Olden days. Please refer hsitory. There were many institutions were 70-80% were from OBS and SC/STs. These Brits came and divided our society. Please if you are OBC or SC understand the history and the truth. Even I am OBC.

I am also an obc but have never used it.I have come up in life by hard work, studies and vision of my parents and mine too. There is no substitute to hard work and education alone can bring change in world.Blind Reservation destroys the fabric of the society that is what is happening in Govt organisation. However economic subsidies should be given to poor and needy .Promote education at all levels.

Time to rethink
by ansuk virendra jain on Apr 23, 2007 04:28 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It is high time to rethink about the policy of reservation. The reservation should be based on the basis of one's economic parameters and on the basis of one's caste.

Economic parameters could be " do you own a house, how many earning members are there in one family and how many dependent, their education status etc.

We are ready to support the downtrodden but not as per the current structure.

Also there needs to be an end to reservation. We can support them for 5 yrs, 10 yrs, 20 yrs, 50 yrs , 100 yrs, there need to be an end to it which should be specifically defined. The law cannot expect us to support the downtrodden endlessly.

Finally if one has to improve his standard of living then he alone can do it.

The above judgement of SC is a welcome judgement

The real downtrodden can be supported. But not the so called down trodden and the rich. An OBC with a 100 acre farm land and a few crores of money in his account and a labourer in his farm can not be equal in reservation.

The policy of reservation should define its achievement and when they see the end to this reservation. If a person is benefited by reservation he should be deserved. Only then the next man in queue becomes eligible.

A HARD DECISION FOR POLITICIANS
by ashok iyer on Apr 23, 2007 04:27 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

A Lesson UPA Government who had made Mischievous game in the name of OBC reservation now they will understand what is the power of Judiciary. Let them accept the verdict and you should not amend the law. THERE IS A LIMIT IF YOU EXCEED THE LIMIT BY PARLIAMENT THAN STARTS FIRE/DEMOSTRATION EVERY WHERE AGINST THE PARLIAMENT. WHY NOT GOVERNMENT SHOULD ACCEPT THE ORDERS OF HON. COURT. THE QUESTION IS 57 YEARS WHAT HAS BEEN DONE BY THE GOVERNMENT? WHY THEY HAVE NOT OPEN MORE SCHOOL/COLLEGES FOR THESE SECTIONS OF PEOPLE. SUDDELY THEY WAKE UP WHEN UP ELECTION WAS NEAR AND THEY WANT TO AMEND THE CONSTITUTION IN THE NAME OBC VOTE. A HUMBLE REQUEST ALL THE FORWARD COMMUNITY LET SPREAD THE MESSAGE WE GOVERNMENT AMEND THE LAW THROUGH BACK DOOR [THROUGH PARLIAMENT] WE SHOULD START AGITIAION IMMEDIATELY. SPREAD THE MESSAGE MAXMIMUM LEVEL

More you ask government should provide food, clothing, conveyance, books, fees etc so that after finish your education you can also equally competition level donot ask for silly help. These politicians cheated for long time. Please Please wake up. This is the correct method. we never against you understand first clearly.
