Caste is a myth and unconstitutional - Politicians please understand
by Ravishankar Kandallu on Apr 23, 2007 04:44 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Our religion [hinduism] and nation forbids castes. No where in vedas caste is mentioned. A human is a brahmin / sudra not by birth but by the way of life he leads. Ravana is son of a sage but he is a sudra by his deeds. Vishwamitra is a king by birth but he is a brahmin by way of life. Valmiki is a sudra [robber] by birth but a brahmin by his way of life. He wrote ramayan.

So please understand that OBC / SC-ST IS A MYTH. KUDOS TO SUPREME COURT!

Bhai Ravi, u r 100% right but logic wouldnot work with those who are blinded by selfish thoughts. The problem is not cast system. Infact people are using cast for bargaining and those who are enemy of this country are using castism to destroy Hindu dhrama.

They are not going to listen to you

sc decision
by RAHUL SHARMA on Apr 23, 2007 04:44 PM  Permalink

but please remember the SC has also said it would examine the plea for refrering the matter to a constitution bench. if such reference is allowed, what decision the larger bench would take is not taken.
i think all rejoicing is premature. we must wait and watch at least for a few weeks.

Divide & Rule
by Amit Kumar Pathak on Apr 23, 2007 04:44 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Seeing the comments of OBC category people I have become sure that our political parties have succeeded in divide & rule policy. Very cleverly these netas have divide our nation based on Castes n we the stupid guys are unable to understand their intentions. This is not the matter of Upper caste & Lower Caste. What ever brahmins did in their past was wrong but quotas are no different also equally incorrect. Injustice is injustice no matter is done with whom....a lower caste guy or an upper caste. Reservations has divided our society and we foolish people are still fighting. If they really want the upliftment of the society than every one should be given equal chance without any quota with pure competetion. And if govt. want to help Lower Caste.....they can help them financially because its the matter of upliftment of poor but not a particular caste. And poors are avilable even in Brahmins. Many villagers one can find living below poverty line and they are Brahmins. So.....where the hell JUSTICE is......????????

All Crap

80% of people with > 1800 monthly consumption are upper castes....only 10% in the lowest income group are upper caste. The actual population of upper caste is 35%.

We keep doing this and we will have caste wars and blood...

Supreme Court
by Chandra SK on Apr 23, 2007 04:43 PM  Permalink

I guess the judges in the supreme court are clever. They dont say it is wrong to give reservations, instead they try to cacel reservations by asking for who constitutes backward class, interesting.

Reservation policy
by Subbaraman Ramaswamy on Apr 23, 2007 04:41 PM  Permalink

I agree with the Apex Court decision. The merited one will be affected. On the higher level of education it is ones talent that matters. So if the reservation policy comes, it will really affect the talented ones. So I think it is a pure nonsense. It is ok if the Government wants to take Bharat back to the 20th century stage.

SC on OBC
by ashok tiwari on Apr 23, 2007 04:37 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Excellent. Hope Sonia, Arjun Singh and coy understands. It is a shame the way they are begging the SC.
Wasting SC's valuable time in politics.
Supreme Court will never aggree to some thing without a basis. There is none for OBC reservation as of now. Minus the creamy layer it would at best be 5% and not 27%.
There should be no Quota for OBC. If at all there can be Quota for financially poor, of whichever caste or religion.

Great verdict
by krishnendu mukherjee on Apr 23, 2007 04:37 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Great verdict by the SC. This is a tight slap on the face of Arjun singh. It is time for india to move ahead and this verdict shows the way. Since our economy is becoming so competitive, it is evident that very field jobs and education should be made competitive too. In 50 years if the government thinks that there are still OBC and SCST prevail (which is true) the certainly this is not the right policy or the opportunity is enjoyed by some wrong people.

I agree there are backward class in India, but the cream of the policy never reach them. So the government should think of some other policy for their betterment. HOwever there are a large number of people who got the benifit from this kind of reservations and they are no longer backward, except their title which is used for getting those extra benifit. SC has shown the way. Government will always care abt vote bank but if india has to go ahead then make the field more competitive.
