It shows obstinancy on the part of the GOI which has tried to impose the whims of certain persons on the nation- one SINGH divided nation in 1989 and the other SINGH is following on his path. The direction by the HRD Ministry to the IIMs for postoning the admission should have been interpreted as 'contempt of Supreme Court' and the concerned Minister should resign morally.

Did you become doctor by getting seat from a OBC or SC/ST quota because you wrote yourself Dr. Thakur and it seems you have written these comments with your dick i.e. your comments does not make any sense. Please DO NOT mind and try to improve your english skills before you start writing or calling yourself so called "Doctor". Jai hind
With the quota for OBC the total reservation will increase to 52% or may be higher. I have a suugestion. Pass a bill for reservation of remaining 48%, presently not covered under resrvation, with a condition that vacant seats would be filled by the reserved quota in case suitable candidates are not found in SC/ST/Minorities?OBC etc etc categories. What say???????
What I am suggesting is that let there be no quota reservation for SC/ST/Minorities or OBC etc etc and let there be a quota only for castes/catagories not presently covered under reservation. This will give more leaverage to SC/ST?Minorities and OBC etc to compete and get more education/jobs as tehre will be no sub-reservation under each catagory amonst themselves.
The entire country should infact fight for upliftment of econimically weak people irrespective of any caste or catagory

Very well written Siddhartha. Excellent, you seem to me a very sensible person and I fully agree with you. First of all I think all this quota issue is more beneficial to our politicians rather than to our OBC or SC/ST brothers/sisters. Secondly, I have seen a lot of people in India who belong to upper castes such as Brahamins are living in worse conditions than SC/STs. If Government follows your suggestion it is not going to be beneficial only to SC/ST, obcs but also to upper caste people who living much below the poverty line. I am not against the reservation but I think now after 50 years of independence time has arrived when we should be looking for giving opportunity to people belonging to all communities who are living below the poverty line. Great verdict by the SC. This is a tight slap on the face of Arjun singh. It is time for india to move ahead and this verdict shows the way. Since our economy is becoming so competitive, it is evident that very field jobs and education should be made competitive too. In 50 years if the government thinks that there are still OBC and SCST prevail (which is true) the certainly this is not the right policy or the opportunity is enjoyed by some wrong people.
I agree there are backward class in India, but the cream of the policy never reach them. So the government should think of some other policy for their betterment. HOwever there are a large number of people who got the benifit from this kind of reservations and they are no longer backward, except their title which is used for getting those extra benifit. SC has shown the way. Government will always care abt vote bank but if india has to go ahead then make the field more competitive.
I am very much disappointed with court decision. this is all political. for a long time the upper casts are suppressing the poor low cast people and court is also helping the high class people. shame!

what does it mean Mr.Muneer?? Do u think all SC/ST/ OBC/Muslim are poor?? all upper caste people are rich, is it?? How can caste determine status of some one in the society?? What about the people who enjoyed reservation for 2-3 generations?? People are not against reservation, voice is aginst caste based reservation. All are human beings, so all economically backword people should get the reservation beifits..don't u think so??

I have seen the villages of poor people where they dont have even clean water to drink. these are only rich high class people who were not allowing them to fetch water from there wells, still the situation is same. as being from syed family, reservation for low cast people is against me also and to my generation but still I think what we have given back to poor low cast people is not sufficient. still they need more to come up in society.

Mr munner i understand ur feeling..but do u think it can sort out by reservation.then why it is not solved after 58 years of reservation.for them it needs basic education..why govt are all supporter of reservation not taking this basic needs of poor peopl..present gvt. are trying to divide country by cast/religion/do u support it..???
