If u cant change your law,
by chanakya maurya on Apr 23, 2007 01:03 PM  Permalink

Dont expect India to compromise with hers.

India is a sovereign nation.

Just because we happen to share a border with the naapaak does not mean we, too, are mortgaged
to the US of A the way the naapaak has been from its very birth.

Indo-US Nuclear Deal
by S Rajendran on Apr 22, 2007 06:22 PM  Permalink

It is absolutely alarming that India is being coerced into signing a very discriminatory Indo-US Nuclear agreement which does not tally with the initial Bush-Manmohan Singh Agreement. The US after adroitly changing the goal posts seeks to enforce two basic alternations, one no to future nuclear testing and two, no to nuclear fuel recycling. It is high time the Prime Minister goes public and trashes the Indo-US Nuclear deal without any delay. It is a waste of time and money is sending Shiva Shankar Menon to Washington DC to negotiate on the Nuclear Deal when the US after changing the goal posts have categorically declared that they would not violate any stipulation of the Hyde Act which for India is not worth the paper it is written on. Scrap this bloody treaty and give the Yankees a bloody nose. S Rajendran

US Laws are Discrimi natory amongstthe Recognised Nuclear Powersand the Rest
by D goel on Apr 22, 2007 03:30 PM  Permalink

Panchkula, April22nd Sunday , afternoon, 3.05 PM.,2007.
Now , Messrs. Shyam Saran & Sri Shiv Shankar Menon current Scretary General visiting Washington DC on coming May 30th and perhaps
following day or two would between the two top
MEA GOI looking after these Negotiations to get the Agreed Nuclear Reactors and Uranium fuels as promised for India's rising electric power demands, shall fail. Seems would not be able to get across US scruples forIndia's refusal to unilaterally give up even any future Weapon testing, if needed according to perceived Security needs by her own experts.
US also has not approved the cockiness of Indian state's either in Rocket Research , and its
continued interest in pushing ahead the ICBM (Surya )project, or Man on the Moon (Chandrayan )hopes, to get equal to Chinese and Russians in these strategic field of Space domination. Both Russian and Chinese like US also have misgivings about Indian Initiative in these exclusive strategic areas of dominating Space.
In fact without exception these exclusive Nuclear Haves desire the rest of the countries to be discriminated in all areas that could seem to lessen the gap between Nuclear Haves and discriminated Have-Nots.This is the old power Politics , Balance of Terror, or whatever name one may craft ,it is the unchanging Jingoistic gut-feeling of all Hegemones, Liberal / Marxist.
Indian polity should ,accordingly, come to maturity and get its perspective rectified and move out any world of self -delusive hopes that US Negotiators would let Indians grow as centre of Nuclear Initiative without being firmly tied to its own perceived global strategies. So seek autonomy, if your experts are capable of turning abundant Thorium into Plutonium as weapon-grade Nuclear --Fuel.Let our other programmes like fresh Water /heavy Water Power units start on their own rather than seek easy access from Nuclear Haves, who shall malinger and eventually deny us this access to state of -art Nuclear technology, that way lies folly.

Nuke deal
by raj kumar bhatia on Apr 22, 2007 02:27 PM  Permalink

I think America has not only continuously betraying India, it has betrayed its own people by continuosly hiding facts about Iraq & Pakistan. full marks to Musharraf who has befooled American admn continuously to manage huge funds - without giving anything in turn. America deserves the treatment being given by Iran & Pakistan. Sincerety is not the game America understands.
