This type of coverage give a positive message to the society at large that if we wish we can do any thing. Up liftment of poor section of society by this type of positive way (not by reservation) MUST BE RECOGNISED and WELCOMED by the society.
Hope other leaders may come forward for this typoe of noble cause on geniune basis.
A welcome report but instead of 'poorest state' Bihar may be better called 'most deprived state' and likewise for 'dalit' a better world is 'Vanchit'. On data Bihar may be 'most illiterate' but in fact its area of Mithila, Magadyh and Bhojpur are still the cradles of Indian civilization where highly intellectual persons reside, of course the state was systemetically exploited and ignored by all including GOI.
It is a great achievement for rural area in Bihar where girls are not being educated properly. such type of efforts really appreciate the society. Now time have gone when we ignore the importance of girls. girls are doing well in every field. Every parents duty to educate and encourage them at every stage. this is beginning of new era for Bihari to think about it.
This is amazing and inspiring. For the first time in decades Bihar has started progressing. Hopefully this progress and the momentum will continue. Kudos to the Nitish Kumar govt for this effort.
For the first time, I have seen rediff doing the positive journalism, from which redif itself can take lesson and give to other media groups whose news are related to most of the nonesensicals and for whom India means only few metros of India! Thank God that you guys have started giving such positive news which gives positive vibes in our mind and a relaxation in heart which is otherwise crowded only by negative media. For example, you reported Bihar only when something bad is concerned while rarely you reported it's postive sides specially in recent time. It is not only this step by Bihar government, but there are so many recent positive developments in Bihar which none of media covered ever. I list few of them: 1) Few weeks ago, Bihar becomes the 1st state of India to accept supreme courts advice to implement new police act to free police from political interference and do positive policing. no toher state has yet implemented this. 2) Bihar has become the 1st state of India to implement Right of Information fully and even on phone lines. 3) Bihar has become the first state of India to provide 50% reservation to women in panchayati Raj and extending it to assembly soon, a step which always failed in parliment of India even after having a lady president of the ruling party. 4) Police for the first time in India behaved like people friendly where they admitted 80,000 extremely poor children who had never been to schools, directly to schools, which sets examples to other states. 5) 1 year ago Bihar government recruited Ex-Armymen to it's special auxiliary force, a new way to benefit state security as well as armymen. Same is being done for state vigilance where Ex-CBI officers are being recruited. 7) A compulsive policy implementation which sanctions amount to each school to avail basic amenties to students. This is irony that while the government in Bihar is opposition of central government, the central government has declared most of the above described steps of the Nitish Kumar government as a model implementations should be followed by rest of India. Most of these initiatives which I described above, were on Human resources side but there have been lots of postive changes in toto, which I continued with new Nitish Kumar, will surely make Bihar a developed state, a thing which looked impossible few months back! But I ask Biharis who are well settled and residing aborad..that why don't they contribute to the state and stand only like shameless viewer of all ongoings be it bad or good? can't they adopt single children and provide him/her with complete education till college level and create a great citizen. I have done so and glad to tell you guys that the boy whom I had adopted is on the path of ebcoming a software engineer. Why you guys can;t do so witht he udner privilageds? Don't leave everything to Nitish Kumar, do something yourself too. Anyway hatts-off rediff for first time reporting postive news and sensible news, covering the real India .
Thanks to rediff to report to the world and puting the face of upcomming Bihar.
They are not DALIT, they are not backward, they Super Heroins. They have fought the biggest fight and won to show it to the world. Showing their thumb to all dirty politics on cast. Surpassing the spirit and killing all the evils of Cast and division in society.

Same is with super30 of Patna. they too are heros not dalits. While most of it's students are underprivilaged and from backward caste, none of them appear in IIT-JEE under any quota and give and compete in general quota and qualify. Those shameless creatures advocating for quota should take some lessons from these super30 students of Patna, including Arjun Singh and our divide and rule policy central government and opther political parties whose members i suspect even studied properly in life and today fighting for quota just to consolidate theri votes at the cost of integrity.
Good that rediff is bringing out good articles on rural and girl education. I believe poet kuvempu's saying that each individual is born as universal person but our society and circumstances make him a narrow person and only education makes him again a universal person and takes a good and correct decisions in his life. Education for all should be our and governments commitment for bright future on our Nation.
Hi, If you rediff guys go thru the comments you can easily figure out most of us are very happy with this sort of reporting. So next time onwards please keep this in mind and don't give any space to Ash-Avishek marriage. No one on earth is interested it is only you from Media who go on publishing those reports. Wishing Bihar and all its residents a very bright future.Hope Nitish Kumar carries on the work which he has started
