Heartening
by on Apr 19, 2007 10:12 PM  Permalink

Its really heartening to see the genuine smiles on their faces in all the pictures... All of us here having read this over the internet, most of us I'm sure are not happy with our lives at all.. we are always cribbing about the life we have.. although i salute all the gurls for doing wat they are doing, but i m really concerned abt the 3 12-yearold girls who would like to pursue swimming as a sport.. i hope they dont get discouraged by the present conditions of non-cricket sports in india.. it high time the concerned parties, including the BIG MNC's start funding the non-cricket events.. only then could we encourage such talents to pursue the sports of their choice irrespective of all the obligations..

The Bitter Truth
by m on Apr 19, 2007 09:27 PM  Permalink

Hinduism has disintegrated and destroyed India till 1947.
The current status is:

Kerala - Gulf?
Tamilnadu - No Comments
Andhra Pradesh - Telangana movement
Karnataka - Ask Tamilnadu
Bihar,UP - Their weapons are sophisticated than Indian Army's
Bengal - No comments. Chinese will listen.
Seven sister states - Instant death if you are non-assamese.
Punjab - Khalistan. First round was a draw.
Kashmir - Kidding right?
Rajasthan - You are "paradesi" for them.
Maharastra - Ask Bihar.
...

Hinduism is the root of all evil in India.
by m on Apr 19, 2007 09:26 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

1. It explicitly creates irrational hierarchy among Indians which is against Article 14.
2. Parents covertly train their children to coerce other children as per the above hierarchies.
I deplore any other religion that does this.

bihar was never the best administred state. that was a misreading of the paul appelby report. if you go through the report nowhere dpes it say that bihar was india's best administered state. this is something the congress invented and then kept repeating so that it would look good. bihar has been bad for a long time. that's why the rickhshaw pullers of calcutta from the last 40-50 years are Biharis.

What a theory you have given here, Anil. Your calculation is based just like UN/American Report. In your view every englishwomen must be very beautiful like Diana and Kate Winslet and Each Mumbaikar owns a Ferrari or Mercedes because Sachin and some others own.I think you have some basic misconception about Bihar. Why are you not going through the Results of UPSC, IITs,IIMs and many competitive exams.Youll find your answer.Dont give any conclusion on certain things. If I say all Mumbaikars are Dawood then what would you say

Appleby report was recently quoted by President APJ Abdul Kalam and he also said pretty much teh same thing - Bihar was adjudged the best governed state. Besides, there is also Integration of Indian State by VP Menon which talks in details about how Bihar administration was used to train the improve administration of other states during independence.

Two cents
by Jitendra Tiwari on Apr 19, 2007 06:54 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Bihar has tremendoud potential. I ahve some Bihari friends, educated and successful. They tell the tale of hardships they had to undergo before for this success. They studied under kerosene lamps and cracked IITs, IPs, and UPSCs. We heard the super 30 from Patna. These are incredible stories of human spirits conquer all. The state with such hardworking and intelligent people can't always lie in the dump. Its the failing of politiacns there who have wasted a great human resource for a long time. This are streted looking up. I plead all the succesful people from state to spread goodness.

I understand your love for your home state dude. And it's true that Bihar has been runied not bcoz of it's people but b'coz of people like Laloo & Ram Vilas Paswan.
However, I wish to clarify 1 small matter : Many Biharis love to quote the admission lists of IITs to prove that ALL Biharis are super intelligent. I don't fully agrre with that assessment. Lemme explain why : Many students in Bihar and UP give up 2-3 years of their college education & devote themselves FULLY to IIT preparations. They form groups of 4-5 students and cut themselves off from the rest of the world and do nothing but prepare for IIT-JEE. They even give up studying other subjects; forget sports, leisure, entertainment, all-round development, etc. In effect, they turn from students into JEE cracking machines. This is a sad state of affairs, bcoz the IITs don't look for such "crammers/muggus/machines"; instead they want people who are genuinely talented/intellectually gifted capable of deep, intense thinking & reasoning. And such people are really rare to find & it's improbable that they'll be all concentrated in 1 particular state/region(however much that appeals to one's emotions/ego) Hence, such a brute-force approach by UP/Bihar/Rajasthan students is actually damaging the IIT brand and harming the system.
