Saddest day in every indians life
by Sanjay Hemmady on Apr 19, 2007 05:52 PM  Permalink

Wonder how US is going to tackle the problem of such menace. Would they see it as an external threat or try to improve themselves? It is high time that they recognize that the problem is from within their system. Gun Culture is a US bred Epidemic. And even though the culprit is an Asian, most probably he was born and brought up in US and under their "Culture" (gun culture)

Yours is the very false and irresponsible philosophy that creates in an escalation of violence. The more arms there are, the more people with your mind set will start using them at the slightest provocation.
We will end up with the same sick situation the US has today with arms being sold to all and sundry even on the streets and armed crimes becoming rampant.
As it is the difference between India 20 years ago when guns were unheard of, and today with mafia thugs and terrorists toting guns, we are seeing unnecessary loss of lives.
If arms are sold like this in India, you can imagine how the political provocations against caste, religion and social differences will be rapid and frequent, with untold bloodshed and further unmeasurable loss of innocent lives.
Remember that you yourself could be caught up in the violence you are favouring and be shot on the road simply because you were in the wrong place at the wrong time.

You have an excellent point. I am in USA only right now and yesterday only I went to KMart and purchase one 16mm for my eldest son who is 16 year old, one 14mm for my 14 year old daughter, and 11mm for my 11 year old nephew. We also got bulk discount so I got 9mm for myself because I have a 9mm you know what in my pants. Now from tomorrow onwards we will take all these guns and go everywhere school collej mall wedding hall and if we see another sycopath we wuill shoot him down mercilessly with 9 11 14 16 = 50mm bullets instantly he will be dead.

In this article I see at least 3 different names for who I assume is a single person: "Senguttavelvan", "Senguttaselvan", "Senguttivelvan". Rediff, is this the way you pay attention to facts and data before you publish something? Few months back on same Rediff, I saw a novice article with a lot of factual errors on Cauvery issue. Rediff, please improve..

Virginia Tech Tragedy
by augustin sebastian on Apr 19, 2007 03:16 PM  Permalink

My heart-felt condolences to the bereaved family of Loganathan. May the almighty God give them courage and resilience to bear the calamitous loss. It is said that it is the rule of the Divine that only good people %u2013 the creams of the layer - are taken early to His abode while the rest is left behind. May his soul rest in ever-lasting peace.

Whilst on the terrible tragedy that struck Virginia Tech Campus, when a 4th year senior student wreck havoc by shooting down the inmates taking the toll of as many as 32 precious lives, it is the time Bush Administration to take stock of the situation. This is not the first incident of this nature. Wanton killings at the school and college campus of innocent children by lunatics had been regular happenings in U.S.A. This is primarily due to the gun-trotting American culture. Anyone can purchase a gun from any store for a price. So long as this tradition and culture continue to rule the roost, this threat will continue to proliferate. Possessing guns by an individual should be severely restricted to cases of necessity which should be clearly drawn up and scrupulously adhered. Similarly, in view of the regular threats to school/college./university campus by vandals, very tight security arrangements should be made to ensure direct entry to the campus is severely restricted to outsiders while both the students and faculties are prohibited from carrying fire-arms into the campus.

Needless to say that Bush Administration can only express sorrow in keeping with the protocol and turn away, what about those who were butchered and the eternal agony and sufferings to those whose beloved ones are lost for ever.

Disaster struck Virginia,USA
by abdul shakib on Apr 19, 2007 01:57 PM  Permalink

It never came as s surprise for the college students. As there is a long history of campus shootin in the USA.
But yes it really shock the world with the amount of casualties. 31 dead is no jokin business. Also the poor security in the University and social life of the US citizens are certianly to be blamed for such a carnage.
jus wana say donot act in desperation , go for psychatric counselling.
