IF WE SHOULD STOP GOING THERE..THEN INDIAN EDUCATION SHOULD GIVE RESPECT TO TALENTED MINDS TO GIVE THEM SEATS IN ELITE INSTITUTIONS ..BUT WE CORNER THEM IN THE NAME OF RESERVATION... THINK TWICE WHO FORCE THESE STUDENTS TO GO ABROAD..

Agree, Even India has nice colleges. The trouble is they don't want to spend in India. Salaries are almost equivalent to US and we have to become self-discipline and the day is not far India will be much better then US.

to stop goin to US for studies aint an option... the US govt should not allow minors to get guns and stuff... strict laws should be imposed...
I strongly believe, that the current trend of movies and TV channels are responsible for the current state of youths. If they see what they should not %u2013all the time, everywhere%u2026. their mind is bound to get affected and then we blame them%u2026%u2026..
The movies and TV serials which are full of bigamy, assault, crime, robbery and murders is responsible for the present violence in the young minds.
I wish at least this issue wakes up the prominent people in the entertainment industry and they start to just produce good, healthy movies and serials, which not only would give good values to the children, but also teach them to develop good principles in life %u2013 which will go a long way.
the trouble with us, humans, is that we do not yearn for peace. and where is peace? it is within us. our thoughts run haywire and madly go after whatever is easy, pleasurable and which satisfies our senses. instead, if the mind is made to turn inside, it will result in peace. this is the shortcut to peace which has been given to us by thousands of self-realized souls to humanity. we do not educate the children, youth and the old on this simple philosophy. it's a simple tip. the extensive consumerism, the mad rush after gratification of our senses is taking the toll gradually. against this extreme. Perverted attempts to curb the after effects of consumerism in the form of terrorism, fundamentalism will go nowhere in solving the problem. let's go after the truth and see how the problems of mother earth gets solved. again - turn inward, be non-violent (to you also), be calm and peaceful. my sincere heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the deceased and injured, and also to the family and friends of the killer (who was led astray by our own world).

IT IS NOT THE MISTAKE OF BUSH.WHAT AMERICA AND GEORGE BUSH DONE IN IRAQI IS 100%CORRECT. ALL THE BAD THINGS HAPPEN BECAUSE OF THAT CRUEL AND DIRTY DICTATOR SADDAM HUSSAIN. IF AMERICA KEPT MUM THEN SADDAM WILL ATTACK ALL NEGHBOURING COUNTRIES THEN THE INNOCENT DEATHS WILL BE 1000 TIMES THAN NOW. SO ALL HUMAN BEINGS SHOULD RESPECT AND SALUTE GEORGE BUSH.
Hi Folks, Lets observe a minutes silence for the deceased. But lets rejoice later, as I think the US police has learnt an important lesson from their Indian counterparts. Always blame a "Foreign Hand" in any untoward incident. The South Korean immigrant, will suffer because he is an Asian and should not have been there. There wont be any white suspects at all. They kill around the world and call us barbaric. These white Americans are sons and daughters of the same European breed to which General Dyer, Lord Curzon, Adolf Hitler, Napoleon Bonaparte, etc. belonged. Blood shedders by nature.

You are 100% right. I am not targetting anyone, but critize the ppl who go to US, settle there, forgetting India, their parents and all their folks. It is sad to happen for such a starter (Minal) but certainly, others. Though ppl tell India is corrupted country, unorganised, we are intelligent to tackle any issues, safeguard our ppl to the max possible extent and love each others.
it is bad to mumbai girl who wants to make a carrer in usa. see what the time as come to her that after doing studies in india and she wishes to go to usa and end life. it depends on time we cannot do anything we can pray for her for peace in heaven with no firing in taching in heaven it may happen.it is worst part of it.
im sad by this incident but guys just give a thought for the people of iraq who r dying in double the number everyday without any fault of there's, why then there is sucha hue n cry n condemnation. its a shame on all of who behave in a hypocritic manner. life of every human being is same. sincerely hope ppl wil open their eyes b4 its too late

Hello Mr. Why did you talk about Iraq here and not about SriLanka or any other country or terrorism in India. Is it bcoz you are a muslim. If muslims dont care about others, then why should other care about them.

Sid ... Agreed Human lives are equal and loss of life in iraq is also equally sad but try to think outside your narrow muslim world as well. There's no point crying for another victim elsewhere when the message board is for death of students in Virginia involving different communities of the world. We can continue crying for iraq victims but at the right place and right time.

Thats perfect..... Blame everything on Muslims. Whether it is the LTTE in Srilanka or Ku Klux Klan in Europe & America, or for that matter ULFA, Naxals, KLA in India. Any one does anything point your fingers to Muslims. People have narrowed their thought process to Muslims only and they call us narrow minded. Really sorry Minal that you have been made a basis for this stupid argument. We really mourn your demise.

When you want to refer the killings , why you referred to only iraq ...you should have referred to others along with iraq . this is what muslims (most of them are narrow minded )are blamed off . there are broad minded muslims too (but far less to have avoice)
In US, carrying a gun is a birthright, much like freedom of speech, because their founding fathers thought that if ever the federal govt were to move towards autocracy, armed citizens should be able to overthrow the govt and defend their freedom.
This was 18th century.
Now US looks more like a police state, with the highest incarceration rates in the world with overflowing prisons. US also has one of the rigid sentencing guidelines( more like rules), like black kids who stole a TV would serve 5 yrs in prison.
So, their citizens anyway spend so much money on the police and to have their criminals locked up, so why do they need guns now ? Only pseudo macho old white men with heart problems (Cheney) seem to love them, by using them on just released quails or pheasants or some other animal in captivity , which they don't get it right often.
The problem is the powerful gun and arms lobby. Its a profitable business, of selling sure death . Gun is such a blunt killing instrument, it needs no skill to use, and doesn't even offer the victim even a slightest chance to defend . Even this 33 deaths may not be enough to turn the opinion for gun control.

The guns should be only with the army and police. Others must be carefully scruitinised before issuing firearms. Can anyone imagine that your life is in the hands of "Maniacs"? My heart bleeds for those killed or injured. Who can give solace to the bereaved families? GOD?. What a way to die..Vasudev Chari.
Who knows whether the Korean student has been brainwashed by some terrorist organisation to conduct a massacre to jolt America, no the World, that Americans are the target of terrorism on earth now. Pratapan
The student has sinned by taking away innocent lives who were no way connected with him. If at all, he could have stopped after killing his girlfriend, what I mean is even that is a sin, no one has the right to take even his own life, leave alone another person's life but atleast he could have stopped with killing his girlfriend since she was connected to him but what harm did others do?
