Targetting schools
by lvphanirajkumar on Apr 19, 2007 06:15 AM  Permalink

Psychopaths like choe are targeting schools,as they are generally defence less. Govt, and school management should have a security system to prevent such inhuman acts in future.

What ever happened is bad
by Shantanu Bapat on Apr 19, 2007 04:52 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

But that has nothing to do with Gun Laws. I am a Indian and on a green card in US. I firmly support the gun laws in US. For all those who don't know:
(1)Virginia Tech is a "Gun Free" zone. 32 people died precisely because no one else had gun on them. If students and professors were allowed to carry guns then the maniac would have been shot after 2 fatalities.
(2) Virginia does have a system of background checks. And Choe was issued a gun after required background check. His past record was clean.
(3) There is specific clause where gun ownership can be denied to people who have been diagnosed with mental illness. Although, people are talking about his mental situation there was nothing in his record which says he was interned into a mental institution. Without any records no one can say a person is mentally unstable.
I as a tax payer in US and who believes in Gun Ownership by law abiding citizen strongly object to people using this incidence to raise emotions.

2 or 30 doesnt matter. it still would have been an tragedy! you sound like you'd be happy if only 2 people had died! carrying arms is no solution for this..i wouldnt feel comfortable to be in a place where everyone carries a gun on his/her person albeit for self defense. when wal-marts sell them everywhere, no laws/clauses/back ground checks would be sufficient. i also believe the US is setting bad precedent to other countries with its liberal laws.

I am extemely saddened to hear your opinion about the gun laws.
As a person working in the busy emergency rooms of suburban New york, I have seen the perils of these guns make on the lives of innocent people. On every shift, I see people either killed or paralysed with no fault of theirs.

Heart ache of the parents and relatives is tremondous and un-bearable.

I think it is one of the worst stupidities of US policy about guns, which need to be changed immediately- so that I will not see another mother's cry and heart ache one more time!

It does not seem like Shantanu Bapat has any first hand experience directly or indirectly about it. Don't support eveything what US does blindly!!

And don't use this forum to support your opinion about guns in this forum!!

Some how always the law abiding people do not carry and do not need guns.

Right now i am not thinking about what the laws are and what the laws will be in future. Right now i am only concerned about an aspiring life has ended for no reason. Any law which cannot protect the innocent and takes their life instead is a failure as simple and straight as it is.

Sorry this has happened....

Extremely sorry this has happened. This is a very tragic incident. All we learn from this incident is, Death can strike any one at any time in any form - No matter where you live or how you live. Let us all lead a clean and pure life and be prepared to face death at any point of time. The only place that is 100% safe is the "Heaven". Fortunately, Jesus has promised an eternal life in Heaven for his followers who are pure at heart. Remember, there is no Death or Tears in Heaven.

Condolences to all deceased victims and wishes for the injured for a speedy recovery. God bless.

If you are pure at heart, there is no desire left for heaven or hell. Desire is cause of pain or happiness...

Dude! What are you trying to do? There are far better causes that we should open a fund on. Do you remember the 10000 or so that died in Tsunami? I know of bunch organizations that care for young and mentally disabled kids. Your heart will break if you look at those kids. Nutshell, there are several better things to do.

How had the marican policians reacted?
by the indian on Apr 19, 2007 01:48 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

WHITEHOUSE:

"We respect the right of every american to own a gun."

President of NRA (National Rifile Association, a organization of Rich american thugs that has extraordinary policial influence on WHITEHOUSE)

"See the person , not the gun"

Folks America is the most unsafe country in the world. Only here, one can vent his shortterm frustration or anger in a MASSIVE way like this incident. This is still true. Any can become a victim of workplace or campus shooting. No body is EXEMPT. Its president is one of the most crooked man in the world. Stay safe in India.

"Folks America is the most unsafe country in the world. "

Dude, 32 ppl died. 32. I know it's very sad, but really that doesnt make America the most unsafe place in the world. Do u know 10 ppl die EVERYDAY, on average, on the Western Railway in Bombay? Is this goin to stop ppl from travelling by train?

Their President's a but that doesnt mean all americans are . Let's hope the US looks into gun laws.

india has gun law thats why innocents are killed, framed etc but those who do, get guns without the need to have a license and are never cought. incidents happen but that doesnot mean we should start throwing mud on each other. I like there gun law and also that they do back ground check b4 giving it. and the gunman in this incidence had a clear back ground.
