Some history lessons for Aslam .. parcel!
by kalyan chatrathi on Apr 16, 2007 10:09 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Ms. Aslam - maybe you skipped history classes in school and college ..

bangladesh was created because you folks in Pakistan did not allow mujibur rahman to become PM even when he won elections; you treated bangla as a second class country (the same treatement we received from britishers); paki army murdered students and profs in Dhaka univ; Operation Searchlight killed atleast 200K people' ignored Bangla when it was hit by the cyclone. Bangladesh declared its independence in March 1971.

Pakistan in its infinite wisdom sought to attack India (admit - either ways you were going to be in war!) 'pre-emptively'. India did not attack Pakistan first.

and after all this, you have the guts to mouth off on the comments of a hot-headed politician. maybe they also forgot to teach you civility apart from history

Memo to Rahul Gandhi: Please Please Please leave India alone. Haven't we had enough abuse by your family already? Leave politics and never come back.

Real History of India
by Parthaananda Subho on Apr 16, 2007 09:38 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

One should know about the real history of india's Freedom Movement, partition of India could have been avoided if Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and Indian National Army (INA) would have won the war against British in 1945, and then there were no reason for Congress and Nahru-Gandhi family to govern India. If Netaji Subhas became first Prime Minister/President of India, and Indian National Army would have the power, India would have been much better condition by this time. The Nehru-Gandhi Family is curse for India

Mr Parthaananda

Let me correct you. What you are describing is HYPOTHETICAL history - IF Subhas Chandra Bose were alive, IF INA had won, IF, IF, IF....
The REAL history is what it is - whether you and I like it or not is irrelevant - Subhasji could not see the war through, the INA was routed, the freedom movement was led by Mahatma Gandhi and Nehru was smart, intelligent and tactful to be by his side ........ Thats the real history.

What a paradox of a name !!!. Do you remember that Khandhahar hijack. All relatives of passengers makeing the life of government miserable by screaming on the top of their voice to bring them back from Khandhahar. It is the same. Most you Cowardice Seculars did not think of fighting for your motherland and instead many of you worked for British. You expect a army carrying Boyenets winning against Bullets. Develop pride, dear. Develop some spine too.

Nowadays political parties spend hugely on media management. So, be sure that there are paid coolies to keep a tab on all mass media for repurcussions.

Rahul's dig
by Paddy on Apr 16, 2007 09:33 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I hope the readers of rediff understand my argument!
I think, rahul has fired such an effective salvo at Pakistan, that it has made everybody in that country talk about it. Let us evaluate his comments in the present circumstances. India is far ahead of Pakistan in terms of economic and cultural clout. India enjoys an image and status in the world's minset as never before. Compare this with Pakistan. They are at their lowest ebb possible. The world hates Pakistan. That is the image they enjoy today. What better time to get at your long-time adversary than this??? What Rahul has done with his comments, is to disintegrate Pakistani Psyche.

This is rare talent! The nation needs to acknowledge this! We need to come out of our conventional, hackneyed, thought process and welcome a new and young mind to lead our interests!

De comment on this. For or against.

The statement by rahul gandhi was amateurish to the core. if he saya his clan was responsible for the creation of pakistan, it is true. but patting oneself on the back is ridiculous.
he must not be under the belief that nehru clan is above the law in india.
his statement shows that he feels their clan is indispensible to india. aprtly the congress politicians are to be blamed for this.
better he learn fast lest he becomes a real liability for the present ruling govt.

This Gandy has been at roadshows in U P for about a fortnight. Nothing has happened. No worthwhile publicity. His media managers hit upon an idea to create a controversy to increase the limelight. Unfortunately, those fools did not expect this much negative publicity that fellow would attract. Now, his entire ance$try has been called into question.

This is the effect of engineered popularity.

Very true!
by Rakesh Chatterjee on Apr 16, 2007 09:31 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

And most people still curse Indira Gandhi for showing softness and not recapturing entire Kashmir, thus ending the IOK and POK debate once and for all. Pakistan was on its knees and Indira Gandhi showed forgiveness by not allowing the Indian forces to go the extra mile and recapture POK.
South Asia would definitely have been a much peaceful place now.

Do not give one person or one family so much imoprtance that actual true existing leaders of Congress away from one family,at whose force party is propelling, may have to conceal themselves afraiding that family members or their chamchas may crucify them for a thing not liked by them and kill their career.Could Indira Gandhi alone had got liberated Bangladesh without unanimous support of the then Parliament, and without sheding of sweat and blood by soldiers at front, definitely not, however a foolish child like Rahul Gandhi, can only boast for satisfying foolish ego that everything was done and could be done by her alone. He may say anything but people of this country must reject him for all times for making such a foolish statement

Rahul Gandhi a brainless stupid.
by vijay sharma on Apr 16, 2007 09:31 PM  Permalink

Expression of Rahul Gandhi to the questioned effect, shows that he is a brainless stupid, who does not deserve to complete process to become a leader.Leaders do not make public intricate international policies, and steps taken by the government of their nation, and shun inviting unnecessary criticism of steps taken by relevant leadership at particular stages. It appears crystal clear, that he understands the governance of this nation as hereditical ancestral property of Nehru!s or Indira Gandhi!s family. There could have been no relevancy at all in making such a blunderous statement just to gain something in State Assembly elections. It is a tragedy,Congress cannot survive without such childish leadership, and it is ready to mount upon its head even cats and dogs of Nehru and Indira family.Atleast his father was not so unsober as Rahul has proved below soberness by giving such an uncalled statement.Congress leadership without remembering that he is son of Sonia,in the interest of this nation and Congress, restrain and prohibit Rahul froming posing himself as a leader of even belowest cadre.

It is a foolish, unwise and uncalled for statement, and it appears that you do not understand atall what is Hinduism. While remaining hindu if you know, you can believe or disbelieve in existence of God,you can be religious or non religious, you can adopt or not adopt any cult or form or nonformless worship. You can believe in its Shastras or you cannot believe in them. You can be a knowledge seeker or nonseeker, and you are free to criticise Ram, Krishan ,and other Gods.Had you been a muslim ,such a religion by its compulsion, would have squeezed you in a position of not to thether disbelief,or face outrage of elements you cannot believe. Please do not believe in Hinduism and be continued to oppose it, but try to realise,it has got the best background in scriptures, literature, and all back ground, and other religions have just been a reaction at this,as its history cannot be found ,but history of other reactionary later invented religions can be found.
