If Indira Gandhi didn't separate Pakistan, then who did? Although it may not be ethically right to claim responsibility,it still remains a fact. Indira Gandhi launched a diplomatic offensive in the early fall of 1971 touring Europe, and was successful in getting both the United Kingdom and France to break with the United States, and block any pro-Pakistan directives in the United Nations security council. Gandhi's greatest coup was on 9 August when she signed a twenty-year treaty of friendship and co-operation with the Soviet Union, greatly shocking the United States, and decreasing the possibility that the People's Republic of China would become involved in the conflict. China, an ally of Pakistan, had been providing moral support, but little military aid, and did not advance troops to its border with India.

True my friend..but no use telling these sterilized BJP mouth running tatos. these are shameless no good media terrorists here
Rahul Gandhi has been promoting his family rather tha his party. Be it comments on Babri Masjid or on Pakistan's partition. Will some one remind Rahul that the days of Monarchy in India are over long long back and India is a democratic country not HIS family's personal Estate.
Yes we should thank Rahul Gandhi's (adopted name)family and forefathers who are responsible for today illiteracy, militants and partition otherwise we wud have been in the hands of islamic militants.
indira gandhi had support of parliament; indirectly she had support of nation. it was a tactical move and a correct one - of course only the then PM could have dopone it.hence, rahul - credit goes to entire nation
but of course, no one before or after her could have EVER done it, definately not vp singh, narsimha rao OR AB Vajpayee

Well the person in reference Subramaniam Swamy is a known congress baiter. He is a megalomaniac of the first order who thinks the world revolves around him. Instead of blog hits he should be administered medication and therapy to calm down his overheated imagination engine.
Rahul has not only crossed the line but also the limits a politician should cross while commenting on such sensitive issues of national interest! It's high time the congress (specially P.M. Man'singh) do the introspection if at all he is worth of leading any municipality council leave apart taking charge of the largest state of the biggest democracy of the world. GTA; Ch'garh
