123 agreement
by Nitesh Sinha on Aug 17, 2007 02:32 PM  Permalink

I am in favour of deal. we need energy. We can not complete our requirement using Coal based Thermal Power or hydel energy. It is our reqirement. I think there is no need of nuclear test. It is enough for our country. Only America became demon on 6th August and 8th August, 1945. We are not demon who killed Millions people. One thing is important why we require Military Nuclear power Only to destry the human being. In my opinion China and Pakistan even America will not drop to any country in any situation. Due to globalisation and privatisation only one thing is required to develop money by any way. So there is no need to develop our country of military nuclear weapons. If we require to run a ship by nuclear fuel then it our responsibility to provide the nuclear fuel for those. We have enough Uranimum, Thorium and plutonium for military purpose. so we should only think that deal does not bound us for nuclear testing in future. when we are in trouble i.e. any attack from our neighbours then we have an option we can not see what the treaty says we have only one option i.e. to save our country. At that time we will not see what is american views. We did not follow the opinion of any one country in 1965, 1971, 1998 kargil war. France, Germany, and Russia helped in all war. Those country provide us bomb and war equipments. When America used cluster bomb then no one stoped to produce these type of bombs. So it is not his right to stop us to do any thing & develop our nation. Jai Hi

Deal shouldn't go through.

I really hope that this deal doesn't go through. All Americans want to do is, make India reliant on US economically. They are trying to sell us obsolete nuclear technology which is too damn expensive. Through this deal, US businesses will get trillions of dollars over a long period of time and India a few reactors. We shouldn't fall for this USA's trick. We should give our scientific community their due recognition for developing nuclear technology indegeniously, and we are already leaders on thorium use. So just keep going ahead with it and be independent of anyone in any sector. Dont fall for these cheap American tricks, they have never done anything in their history until their self interest is involved in it. JAI HIND.

I am not posting with an Indian name, I am a true Indian who understands what US is trying to do with this deal. If civilian nuclear technology was so advanced, why is it that US is sceptical of building any new nuclear reactor for itself since the three mile island incident in 1979. They may have like around 100 nuclear power generators but they are not the experts on it. They produce only 20 percent of their electricity by nuclear energy. If nuclear technology is so great, why dont they try to take electricity production by nuclear energy to say about 78 percent (like France). As I said, US corporations need contracts for their commercial nuclear business, therefore all this deal and stuff. I would rather prefer working and investing on thorium technology in which we are pioneers. I would rather prefer to be a leader in some upcoming technology rather than taking some old obsolete technology. It is better to be a leader rather than following the leader. Also, people think that this deal is going to solve all the electricity problems, but thats a misconception. Its going to take about a decade and lotsssssssssss of money to see the miniscule results of this deal. We would have given a lot by that time and gained little. If you think then Iran's natural gas pipiline is less expensive and seeing our always good relations with Iran and bettering of relations with pakistan has more long term benefits than this stupid deal. Dont give into any US cheap tricks and try to do everything yourself, it may take time but in the end it will be good and proud moment for every Indian. JAI HIND.

Nuclear Agreement
by amitava sarma on Apr 14, 2007 12:33 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It appears the Powers that be in our own Ministry headed by Manmohan is really not understanding the American Trick. India must have its independent Nuclear Policy even if it requires that for Internal/External Security u must have Nuclear Heads. When the US became a Nuclear Power or for that matter China no eye brows r raised so why in case of India!Indias intention is not to use its nuclear arsenal for attacking some other Country but it has to be deployed as a deterrent!Jago Manmohan Jago show ur Teeth a bit not smile always and accede to what US says!US depends on India very very much for its existence so why r u afraid?

Isn't something fishy ?
by A G on Apr 14, 2007 11:57 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Isn't something fishy about the statements coming in the press ? This was supposed to be a deal in which US was supposed to provide nuclear fuel and reactors to India subject to few conditions revealed to the public. Our Manmohan, an american stooge agreed to it the conditions (known to public as well known to him only) easily unless the scientists made a noise about the tricky conditionalities being imposed. Manmohan tried to hide behind silly statements. Why is the US now angry ? about what ? was their a hidden agenga which is being becoming visible ? Why is manmohan so quiet now, what really are the americans trying to do to indian science ? Anybody has any answers ?
