N-Program - article by Subramaniam
by giridharan AE on Apr 14, 2007 10:34 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I have read that in Israel, the newspapers publish only news that is positive and good for their nation. Our media is not knowledgeable as they they only express what they feel or wish(it is like lobbying) without researching. It is like adding masala to a healthy food to make it look attractive. The taste is only up to the mouth and beyond that it leads to constipation. Our media, like masala, is visible only on the surface and do not add value to the nation (health to people). You read views of different papers on the same subject and you are more confused(may be the reason why people don't change their papers). May be with more expeirence and maturity, they will improve in future. Their prime objective should be to communicate the news without twisting followed by views to educate the masses towards nation building. This can be done only by enlightened people.

Star News and its crew got a beating early this month.

Pranoy Roy and his NDTV crew getting hit for their hypocrisy and politicking is not improbable. Radhika Roy, NDTV owner and Brinda Karat, CPM leaders are sisters resulting in communist bias of NDTV.

In a country like India, when media becomes politicised vigilante repurcussions are likely to follow.

Media would do well to report facts and shun hypocrisy and politicking of the NDTV variety.

If every country wants to stop making nuclear
weapons then we shd also do it.
Otherwise we just can not stop our programme.

This is a simple theory, but why central govt.
can not forward this simple msg. to the world?

Why we are adding colours with this simple msg?

Different Objective
by J.Peedika on Apr 13, 2007 01:04 PM  Permalink

An agreement entered into by two parties are doomed to fail. In the case of the Indo_U.S. Nuclear deal, both India and U.S. has different objective. The objective of India is to increase its nuclear power while retaning the weapon programme and the objective of U.S. is non-proliferation, restraining of the weapons programme. With diverse objective, the agreement is doomed for failure.

Whatever
by apjunkmail on Apr 12, 2007 10:13 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

India needs to keep producing fissile materials forever to keep even the existing NUKES alive. The enriched material inside the nukes needs to be refreshed very now and then . It is NOT a build and forget thing. So NO FMCT does not matter what contry wants MUST NEVER HAPPEN .

India should not stop till it get to nuclear weapon state
by G S on Apr 12, 2007 10:12 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

We need to be careful in 123 agreement and do not enter into CTBT or NPT thru backdoor.
If it comes to that situation India should formally opt out of the treaty.
India can get all the technology from different part of the world with abit of difficulty but with China being Nuclear weapon state , India can not sign on dotted lines.

in case we are able to produce uranium out of thorium indigenously then it would be a step in the right direction and we need not beg for uranium from other nations who have an upper hand in this proposition.

Thorium in place of Uranium
by rahul chowdary on Apr 12, 2007 04:54 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Mr Subrahmanyam,
What you have implied in the latter part of your article is the lack of uranium is holding back the Indian Nuclear programing. While to a certain extent your statement is correct , your overall conclusions aren't. It so happens that India and China are currently researching the use of Thorium as fertile fuel(this to normal people means fuel burnt along side enriched Uranium in a reactor). I say this with confidence that given 3-5 years there would be a successful thorium reactor in india.
Question now is why Thorium , well india has the world's largest supply of thorium and a thorium cycle eventually leads to a uranium cycle.(its daughter upon fission is Thorium). So there ..some thing for everyone to cheer about.

Cheers
Rahul..

vow..
That's exciting news..
If we could somehow tap thorium ...that would be EXCELLENT!!
then we don't have to worry about this stupid nuclear deal with US.. which in my best belief is BAD for India!

Yes sir, that's great. Let me add: two Thorium prototype reactors are already constructed and run succesfully. India is first, and only power, in world to master Thorium technology. India's exclusive abilities in both Tritium and Thorium give it unique advantage in the world. Deal with US is merely political instrument. US is the arrogant salesman, but to appease the world of NSG they treat India without respect. What kind of salesman tries to insult the customer? US was the initiator behind NSG and now they are victim of it themselves!! Backfire: they've cut their own sales hands. While India has growing Indigenous and Independent through new tech, Uranium import is becoming unneeded. Nuclear deal was an excuse India gave to US to become friends. India does not need it, it was only a sentiment. Apparently USA is still too immature in international diplomacy. Never mind, I believe USA & India have great destiny to reconciliate the bad times and establish new hope for humanity and world.
