Why do we harbour the notion that India and the Us are natural allies. To that country, the only goal in asia and indeed the rest of teh world is containment. Incidentally China has the same agenda. To both a resurgent India with no Pak problems is not good news. They will look to manage India in a low level equilibrium, that only seems (not really) accepts India as a regional power. Why only the US, which has billions of dollars and jobs in China, with a huge trade deficit is not willing to be anti-china openly, it is also Japan. All the anti-Japan protests did not stop the Chinese premier from clinching landmark energy deals with Japan. And for all its pro US credentials and anti-China sentiment, Did Japan support India on the Nuclear deal with the US? The answer is no. Even Japan cannot risk offending its powerful neighbour. So lets stop living in pipe dreams. The US is only as good as a Japan or a China.

very well said.. every country keeps its National Interest in mind while taking any step .. as India did at the time of Voting against Iran in UN . India & US / China can never be good friends ,as they will never stop their support to pakistan due to their strategic & economical Interest & India cant ignore this fact , as pakistan is a mega stopping block in its emerging economic & poltical power struggle.
The emerging world order portrayed is undisputable. But indeed we need to build India internally before we look external.. At least concurrently with our efforts in global arena. One is forced to be skeptical looking at our social / human index...we seem far behind on these accounts...Our statistics of economic growth, defence, science and tech and vibrant media may seem impressive. But ground realities of poor and irresponsible politicking, corruption as a way of life are really disturbing and certainly the greatest restraining force in realizing the scenarios being talked about in you article. Let us therefore not loose sight of realties and concentrate our efforts in awakening the giant nation that we are%u2026.

but the question is- HOW DO YOU DO IT?? how do you bring in money into india and distribute the benefits equally to the poorest of poor? where do you start?
do you clean up the politics first? the corruption first? the poverty? the religious fanatics? the separatists????

who are u to say leave our country?? stupid.... it is peoples like saleemyusuf(unmatured idiot) & U-jayaraj(kottai illatha potta naii)should leave india. then see the country growth.......
Its the time we should realise that the dissimalarities between us are shrinking and the global harmony and co - operation has become the theme of development.
All seems well for the future of india.. POTENTIALLY..!!
But will india really rise?? do any of our politicians have the vision and capability to make india grow at its full potential? NO... and if the politicians dont do it, then india can nevr progress..
we are all staring at the clouds of prosperity right above us.. but who will pull them down?? or will they just pass us and rain over china??

why should we wait for our politicians, lets do it, lets do it, lets start by building groups that can take this country far ahead, and in little time the group will change the way the politicians think and act
I think india should first sort out domastic mess before they put thier hand on glabal mess.
We have nexalites, ISI sponsered terrorism, NE problem etc. Present Govt. Least bothered on these issues, they r only worried of next election and Power for thier gandhi clan. That is y these caste based reservation, freebies for certain communities who vote for them in future.
So Govt and congress busy in deviding the nation, so no time to care for all these roles.
I am Indian but Indian govt. caste based policy makes me feel no patriotism. What is the use of paying tax as all money is given to so called low caste based policies. I dont care for India's security.

Sorry, guys, but I have to support saleem in this - it is his frustration with caste based policies. I do not support his lack of concern over security but it seems like that is said out of frustration. Otherwise, the kind of muslims you are targetting would not write openly like this. They would rather show themselves as patriotic and bite you behind.
