why sad now?
by nitn on Apr 11, 2007 06:16 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

must have been the poor kids of jhopdi-patti walas. they are not a part of india rising story that top 10% of the population has been immersed in.
I mean.. look at the delhi govt. in order for delhi to become world-class european like city for commonwealth games, tens of thousands of poors were removed from their "illegal" jhopdi's near yamuna bank! and all the rich and upper middle class of delhi supported their decision!!(the same who raise sympathy in this board)...same people are displaced and their women raped by policemen near narmada valley, or nithari or west bengal SEZ...every time , the rich and upper middle class oppose them..
then why showing sympathy now????
i also know some of my friends who say why report these news as this disturbs them. this exemplifies typical attitude of upper class...deliberately blind to the plight of majority of the country

barricades
by ram on Apr 10, 2007 11:05 PM  Permalink

I think every indians motive is to blame each other and the indian government. Includes me! Its fun to blame Isnt it.

Its funny to see people talk about barricades and other hi-tech things. A barricade would sell for atleast 100 RS. Why would i leave it near a river when i can use that for a good lunch.

Parents are responsible, I agree, but but governments are also equally responsible for, open tube wells for similar kind of accidents.

9 Children drown in Yamuna River
by rajagopal nambakam on Apr 10, 2007 07:29 PM  Permalink

What has the Govt done to search them. Did they send some Navy divers, helicopters? No definitely not because they were not the children of any Central Ministers nor Central Ministers, not even State Ministers. The Govt has publicised Pranab Mukherjee's accident in News as if Pakistan has raided India on Land, Air & Sea. The poor truck driver must be facing hell in Police Station, as if he has attempted to murder the Minister. The whole point is that Govt & the whole batallion of its officials, bend rules, overlook rules, break rules, change rules and whatever is possible, if it affects them. As a result laks of common people die, face hardships throughout their life. The Ministers just close their eyes because their pockets are filled. But when it affects themselves, some hapless truck driver is made scape goat. IN ANY CASE, IT WAS NICE TO READ THAT THE MINISTER HAD TO BE SHIFTED BY BULLOCK CART BECAUSE THERE WERE NO OTHER VEHICLES AVAILABLE. BUT IF IT HAD BEEN ANY OTHER PERSON, NOT EVEN BULLOCK CART WOULD HAVE BEEN MADE AVAILABLE IN THE EFFICIENT & PERFECT GOVERNED INDIA.

My question is why the parents of those children so careless to allow them to play on such place where it is likely danger?

It is very easy for u to say that their parents were careless. Sir, i belong to that family and i know the truth. there weren't only friends present, but the whole family, and the drowned people includes my aunts, cousins and a friend.
