All soaps to be banned
by Swadesh Dey on Apr 11, 2007 07:20 AM  Permalink

All soaps specially EKTA KAPPOR soaps should be banned immediately, these are giving wrong signals to our society specially to the young children. All soaps showing extra marital, double extra, tripple extra marital affairs. These are nonsence. Channels are also responsible, they are trying to show ads for women body, jwelleries and cloths just to earn money. These are all bogus. There should be some sort of censor.

Need Program Ratings and Parental Control
by UsualSuspect on Apr 11, 2007 07:02 AM  Permalink

All programs should have ratings like age restriction information and television sets and/or cable set-top boxes should have provision for Parental Controls.

Kids also need to be educated as to which channels/programs they are allowed to watch.

Is this really true?
by Dharmendra Ramrakhiani on Apr 11, 2007 06:50 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Rediff should specify the things in detail. The data is too insufficient to be considered as truth or rather say it is well made story.

IF NO, THEN WHICH PANKAJ....(SURNAME), WHERE IN MASWANPUR, WHEN IT HAPPEND, HOW THEY FOUND IT???

Silly serials
by Jeevan on Apr 11, 2007 06:43 AM  Permalink

The serials and soaps on the channels are so silly, shallow and focusing on negative aspects of life that they must have driven several people to commit suicide. Anyway it's a pity that the young kid lot his life for whatever reasons.

OMG. People are so much Idiots in India
by Chhagan Bhujbad on Apr 11, 2007 05:19 AM  Permalink

There we go again! Another kid making news. I think for him, achieving fame was only after his death. No hard feelings, but a 13-year old kid is not a KID anymore. Doing what shown on TV is literally SUICIDE. If Hrithik Roshan jumps from a hill, it would be insane to do the same thing. That was very ignorant of the kid. No one should be blamed, but the kid himself. And I am very sorry about his death and to see the sorry state of Indian culture. Like United States, Indian channels should also have PG, PG-13, R rated channels and programs and such that the people can control the TV programs too and lock it for themselves.

Come on...
by Sarnath Kannan on Apr 11, 2007 03:51 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The investigation is not over. Lets wait
and see what has really happened. Its premature to talk anything now.. I wonder why media is giving it a color without knowing the truth.

Media has given its verdict even before anything and therez bunch of people discussing over it.

Come on guys, Why dont you wait for the truth to unravel before making comments? Its sick.

13-year-old hangs himself after watching suicide scene on TV
by on Apr 10, 2007 04:23 PM  Permalink

it is really a very sad news. the society is totally confused. nobody knows or bothered what should be shown, what should be viewed, what would be the effect of such scene. result is as it happened in Kanpur. there may be number of such accidents which may have gone un-reported. it is right time some stringent rules are framed and imposed on TV channels barring such scenes to be shown at prime time.
