RE:NRN is an OBC

Well said in the era of reservation politics. Unfortunately he is a Brahmin (Not Lingayat). He is further disqualified because of his utterances about the National Anthem during the Prez's visit. We could have considered him if he were a SC/ST/OBC even if he had shown disrespect to our National Anthem. Is not Laloo continuing as Railway Minister despite sitting with his wife when the National Anthem was being played?

I think Mr. Kalam should continue (if he is allowed by the current govt.)... He is one of the very few people in India who can be looked upto ass a true and just leader and father of a nation.

I think it's not a good suggestion. A person like kalam is simply wasting his knowledge of science being there.
He is a scientist and let him concentrate on that.

hai b.... f..... deepak sharma..... still you are in castism first yoy forget castism think like a true indian
No doubt, as Dr.A.P.J. Kalam has given turning point to the Presidentship, NNM will also give a new look to the presidentship for achieving the Goal of India-2020 A visionary person is slelected by Dr.APJ. Kalam.
Surely NRN is not suitable to become the next president after Dr Kalam. (Hope people note my respect for this man when I call him %u201CNRN%u201D and the current president %u201CDr Kalam%u201D).
NRN has been immensely lucky to be in the right place at the right time coupled with a lot of hugely talented and extremely hard working team behind him.
This man has been very shrewd and media savvy. Ques : How many knows today the other Directors of Infosys or the entire team that built it? Ans : Only a handful.
No one can become 1st citizen of this great country just because a few without work boot licking employees (may I dare say perennially-on-the-bench) propose your name. You need to do something for the country. Least is to show respect to her National Symbols.
Someone asked what other politicians have done for their constituents? Ans.: I request them to visit Malda(WB) - Gani Khan Chowdhury turned the city on it%u2019s head, Baramati(part of Pune) %u2013 Sharad Pawar is God here, do I need to say more about Pune? Saifai(UP) %u2013 Mulayam has made this a world class city.
Few Infosys guys who don%u2019t know a bit of India are all praises for NRN just because they get salary from him without any work. Probably they are not aware that he charges his clients on USD / Hr basis and doles out pittance to these fresher in return.
A guy asked if not NRN then who? My suggestion : Dr Karan Singh. Reasons : 1) An indisputable scholar, period. 2) A Congressman but hugely knowledgeable on Hinduism (may get support from both Congress and Saffron brigade). 3) True blue lineage. 4) Impeccable past record. Doesn%u2019t do or say silly nonsense like NRN and very important for 1st citizen. 5) Next turn is of a North Indian and do I dare say of an upper caste Hindu now after a Dalit and a Muslim.

While I do not subscribe to NRN as president just now, but What an analysis? what anybody else who became president (other than Rajendra prasad who faught for India's india's independence) did. they were also involved in their own profession or chosen line of vocation. But Karan Singh closed his eyes on the attocities meted out to his own tribe in Kashmir. A hanger on in the Nehru Family. An admirer of the Nehru leniage. He would be a good replacement for Zail Singh who offered to sweep the courtyad of Indira. And lastly what a qualification attributed to Karan ASingh - A North Indian. It is a shame that we have people who still have the North South divide in their rotten heads. Tomorow these type of people will ask for a Christian as president, and so on. Shame on this country!

I dont think NRN was lucky to be in right place at the right time. He and his partners had a lot of failures to the tune of 8/9 years! and when everybody decided to part ways NRN stated he will continue if anyone stays or not! thus he became the man who was running the show!!
I dont know much about Karan singh, so cant comment on that. May be hes as good or even better.
Regarding your analysis on clients paying in USD and he doling out pittance - THATS WHAT YOU CALL BUSINESS!! Y NOT ASK EXXON MOBIL TO GIVE A SHARE ON THE PROFITS TO ITS EMPLOYEES?? ITS ABOUT 36 BILLION USD!!!

There you are gentleman. That Mr. Karan Singh is a Sanskrit scholar and knowledgeable in Hinduism (considered to be the dirtiest word for a truely secular party for a secular country)and is from the brahmin community calls for an automatic disqualification to the post of the President of India. Try to think of some Dalit leader or better, a Muslim. If you can't think of one, ask Mulayam Singh or Ramvilas Paswan.
Otherwise a suitable candidate, has made a 'foot in mouth' statement in front of the media. He has to mature a bit more and get out of CEO shoes. In this country one need to be very docile yet very firm. At times ones conscience will not be allowed to impose itself like what Kalam did in respect of the office of Profit Bill. I am sure NRN will mature after he works in some Government committee at the center.
really no sensible citizen of india wish narayana murty to take up president office by which he will have to intrract and deal with the dirty politicians and get his image and personolity soiled. KUDOS mr. kalam for keeping this political at a distance and for mainaining his integrity and honesty.
NNM is a wonderful PR and businessman. But lets leave it there. I would not have respect for a person who chooses to take lightly on the singing of the national anthem so that his over seas employees are not offended / or dont understand. Its not the Bhagavat Geeta that wasbeing read but a 4 minute national anthem. So in my view a person who has so little a view on his nation cannot be the president of India. And I think over the years his passion for the USA has undermined the resiliance of his nation.
Kalam or Murthy, let us not resort to hero worshipping. Blindly following the present day leaders will be very dangerous. Unfortunately God has stopped sending people like the Mahatma to our country long time back
