Bad Choice
by Vinit Wakhare on Apr 09, 2007 12:04 PM  Permalink

I read in this mornings news papers that the National Anthem was played very badly when our president was there in the Infosys campus. When Mr. Narayan Murthy was asked why the arrangement could not have been better, his answer was that since there are some foreigners in the campus , they would feel uncomfortable & so they did not want to play the National Anthem...!!! If a persson feels like this , tell me is he fit to take up this highest post in INDIA....?????

by Makarand Patil on Apr 09, 2007 12:04 PM  Permalink

No.. he should not be made pesident of India as this post does not carry any influential powers.
Instead make him the Prime Minister, where atleast he can utilize his skills and intellegence with the help of power.

Yes, but why this shameless PR?
by ninad vengurlekar on Apr 09, 2007 12:04 PM  Permalink

Yes, Narayanamurthy should stand for President. He could be a better choice than most others.

But why is he using his company's PR machinery for self promotion? I fail to understand his double standards. He is sharp and shrewd. He has a lot of commercial greed and political ambitions. But he always gets away as one holier than thou. Amazing!!

The most eligible candidate for presidency as of now is Mr.Narayana Murthy. If Mr.Kalam is not interested on a second term then Mr.Murthy will definitely be a great choice. The way he brought Infosys to where it is right now does show is natural skills

No Point - It's a Waste of time n Energy
by Shekhar Seth on Apr 09, 2007 12:03 PM  Permalink

Neither could Kalam make any difference, nor will Murthy be able to do so.
The problem is that President post is dummy - everything decided and driven by the parliament, President is only there to complete the signature formality.
Though Kalam has been instrumental in motivating the younger generation, but the motivation fades off gradually, once ppl see the harsh realitites of life.
It's better for Murthy to continue creating jobs for youth at companies life Infy, rather than wasting time in Burreaucratic processes

Narayan Murthy as Prez
by Prabhakara Chappalli on Apr 09, 2007 12:02 PM  Permalink

It is a damn good idea. Communism spoke only about distribution of wealth, while capitalism spoke about generation of wealth. Mr.Narayan Murthy not only ensured generation of wealth but also ensured distributiion. Thanks to him you will find crorepatis amongst lower level staff in Infosys. The couple are highly patriotic and have shown utmost concern to the issues confronting India. They are no doubt amongst greatest contemporary Indians. The issue is not whether Mr.Narayan Murthy deserves to be the Prez or not. The issue is whether India deserves Narayan Murthy to be its prez. He being a brahmin would be a great hurdle to his candidature, since he does not belong to any of the powerful votebanks. Mr.Abdul Kalam has once again shown his great sagacity and commitment to the progress of the country.
