Absolutely a bad idea! First of all, an indian president has no authority to make critical decisions.. Without which one cannot expect a president to perform...There is no point in going around speaking about wonderful dreams and ideas, if they are not going to be implemented.. So lets leave narayanamurthy where he is...
Narayan Murthy would certainly be fantastic. He represents the new awakened, hardworking and intelligent Indians. For youngsters he would be very inspiring, just like Kalam has been. Kalam is loved because of his excellence in being a truly educated yet humble. Narayan Murthy is a man made of his own hard work and courage to take challenges. He represents the Global India, which is soon going to take the world by storm.
People like Mr Murty should come forward and be accepted for such esteemed post. We have seen India growing from a scientist's point of view...now we have equally good oppurtinity to benefit the country and world through vision of an Entreprenuer and social leader.
There should b no 2 opinion on the subject.Choice is superb. It will b a great step 2wards India being a SUPER POWER Country.Excellent choice beyond imagination.
I don't think Narayan Murthy should be made the President of India. I don't think India should repeat the mistake twice. With due respect to everyone concerned, let me explain my point. Prof.A.P.J.Kalam, India's top-most Rocket Scientist, who was used to working 18 hours a day on nothing but curd-rice and apples, when made the President of India spent his time doing "nothing" worth-while. I use the word "nothing" on a comparitive basis. A scientist par-excellence, I would have thought he should have been busy imparting his immense knowledge and experience to other young scientists. If it was an administrative position he was looking for, maybe a Dean or HOD , or even the HEad of ISRO or something. That way we wouldn't have lost a BRILLIANT technical mind to the administrative side. I think India needed more books on Nuclear/Rocket Science than self-realisation books like "Wings of Fire". Again, I do not have anything against the book and it was REALLY REALLY inspiring. But it was just INSPIRING to me .... a lay-man. No big deal about it. But a technical book would have helped all our young scientists to achive more in this domain thrusting India forward in the never-ending arms race.
I just don't want the same fate to happen to the revered Mr.Narayan Murthy. Thats all !!!
Either way the country will be proud to have a President of the stature of Mr APJ Abdul Kalam or Mr Narayan Murthy. However if it is Mr Kalam millions of children who have had the oppurtunity to interact during his visits will support the idea and for those who could not interact will seek an oppurtunity to meet his Excellency in the second term.
