Murhty may be a little better, but still he is not a Sheshan
by sreekumar radhakrishnan menon on Apr 09, 2007 12:13 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Kalam was useless as President. Remember the Office of Profit Bill he signed mutely. One of the Biggest Shame of Indian Parliament. The power hungey politicians of Congress and Left ganged up, they were not ready to forego their chairs of power and money. They shed all ideolagical pretence and sent the bill a second time to Mr. Kalam and he signed !!

But Murthy could be different, but even he is not a 'Sheshan'.

i perfectly agree with you.. i also believe that we need some strict person like sheshan. We can't always say that presient is no powers and only a stamp, it can be different, coz no one knows who was the election commissioner before sheshan! coz he showed the world how to use the power.
So NRN an be an excellent choice provided he uses powers and not just get overpowered by politicians.

There is no use in blaming Kalam. The Indian Constitution does not give enough powers to President but yes you can blame him to differ decision on Abdul. Even if Narayan Murthy comes he will be a puppet of Indian Constitution.

We need administers
by prabhakaran natesan on Apr 09, 2007 12:13 PM  Permalink

Let Mr Narayanamoorthy become head of some organisation that deals with Software. We need good administrators to do the top job. Our current prez showed his weakness while he signed the fax message recommending dismissal of Bihar Government when he was on visit to Russia.

Good move, let Mr.Murthy become the President of India and convert our county into the most developped Nation in the world within his tenure as the President as he did to his company Infosys.

He is just a good businessman.
by kishore on Apr 09, 2007 12:10 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

He has never fought social/political problems directly. He couldn't answer to land grabbing issues raised by Deve Gowda & others in karnataka. If TCS is silently achieving the things but murthy & infosys will do it with lots of gimmick & media publicity

my friend, Mr.murthy can't face properly to own politicians like devegowda then if he becomes prez and if he rules the country in emergency ,then how can he face foreign countries?first let him become popular in karnataka by actively participating in serious issues like bangalore infracture woes, cauvery issue, corruption, unemployment, farmers problems etc.

What serious issues did Kalam participate in before becoming President, like infrastructure woes, cauvery, corruption, farmers, etc.? Why are you suggesting a different standard for his successor? And what is the calibre of Gowda? It is below NRN's dignity to engage in a fight with the likes of Gowda.

For NRN to become popular with the masses of India, he should do any of the following: 1. Take an Italian passport and marry into Feroz Gandy family. 2. Organize a bandh and break others' property, both public and private. 3. Fell all the trees on highways and block the traffic. 4. Make a show of participating in Ramzan feast. 5. Shout from roof top that Judges should know their limits. 6. Offer free television sets to the poor. 7. Do not offer schools, toilets, etc. 8. Always talk about caste and religion but claim to be secular.

The popularity chart is endless in India.

dear bala,Mr.murthy is not innocent as u think.
He has built public toilets in bangalore displaying infosys name, only for publicity(that too pay for use public toilets from a ultra rich person.)HE can criticise kannada, karnataka but utilised its resources fully than other companies. Is he having the same guts to criticize US as the Bush is making so many blunders? He was very lucky to start the company in Bangalore which is a naturally airconditioned city & he got lands cheaply for infofys campus. He sometimes acts as if he is above bangalore, karnataka & india. He is very much oriented towards his company benefits & name.Media sometimes praises him as if he is gandhi, abraham lincoln, martin luther king. that is most absurd.Infy n murthy have shown great marketing skills to be always in the headlines of print n electronic media.

Narayanamurthy -President
by Raghav on Apr 09, 2007 12:10 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Since independence we had learned persons as president. After Dr.Babu,Dr. Radhakrishnan now we have another very learned, visionery, partiotic, who feels proud about our past as the president.

Narayanamurthy is more of a businessman than of a learned like the earlier.

He manipulate the stock market.

we need highly patriotic, selfless, unattached and who can be a role model for the country, especially to the young ones.

Narayanmurthy cannot fit into this. He is outspoken. He knows the problem but cannot give direction. He can only outbreak at problems. But india needs visionery persons instead of outbreaking should give direction to the future.

No one had given such a clear vision as dr kalam. Let him continue till his death.

Jai hind
