I think the best option is Dr.M.S.Gill (Former Election commissioner). He is the right kinda person for this post. Narayanmurty is an industrialsit. He will not be the better option. Someone from the Sikh community should be posted for this post and M.S. Gill is the best option.

Shri Narayana Murthy is eminently suited for this gubernatorial position. But he is so honest, sincere, straightforward and in the recent past he could not lock horns with Dev Gowda in his own Karnataka State when the former started bullying him. Unfortunately, as per Indian Constitution, the President is only a titular and ornamental/figure head and can't act independently on his own and is always guided by the Union Cabinet. Shri Narayana Murthy will be the last person to sign on the dotted line like Fakhuruddin Ali Ahmed who has reported to have signed the emergency proclamation in the bath room as per the dictates of late Indira Gandhi, the then PM. This might result in tug of war with the Union Cabinet and Rashtrapathi Bhawan which is not desirable.
I feel that Dr Kalam is an icon for the whole country & therefore he should get another term. His recommending Mr Narayanmurthy shows his magnanimity. There is no doubt about suitability of Mr Narayanmurthy, however, as per convention it's the turn for a candidate either from north or from east or western india. In the meanwhile Mr Narayanmurthy can wait because he is too young to be President.
kalam has said that it will be fantastic to have murthy as presidant. But do you think this will happen. already the dirty murky politicians like left, mandalites are preparing ground to provide this seat perhaps to a minority person or a Bc/SC/ST. It is not the efficiency or leadership or clean personality which is the crieteria. kalam was an exception because he was selected by NDA which was much better than UPA. Further , we will be loosing a great personality since Presidant is a rubber stamp whether it is Kalam or Murthy or any body .
Mr.Murthy being a president will not be so recommended. Let's put the priorities over the people who are selected for the candidature. then come to a conclusion.
Mr.murthy does not have the calibre to be a president. no questions, he is a very simple man, very honest and a very straight forward thoughts. but being a president requires something more than this.
murthy can be good for IT ,but not for prez,which should have great leadership.since murthy is not able to convince his company or his sector to pay the corporate tax,since he is a great man in ,as he is called an IT man. First let him convince his company & his sector to pay the corporate tax after 2008, fopr the overall development of india & to have good roads & infracture in bangalore.
