can do without NRN
by LAGIDU on Apr 10, 2007 11:48 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Dalits are afraid of a bramin okkupying the rashtrapatibavan. their sentiment has to b kansidered. ven gauda vas made prime minister, p chidambaram thundered that the days of vedicmen okkupying PM post ended once and for all. peepal bekame happy and releeved. similarly with KRN bekaming president. so do not bring back a bramin and set the klock back.

If your views are to be respected, Rabri Devi is best suited for the President Post. So propose her candidature........

Oh Crap!
It's the merit that counts and not the caste. If the lower castes want to feel scared they will feel scared no matter who is in the office.
Sadly, hypocrites like you rule the roost

by Chida on Apr 10, 2007 11:34 PM  Permalink

why not ? i vouch for anybody wois an achiever and been sucesfull enterpreneur and has been contributing to our country in great zeal and zest , we need only intellectuals who will execute and bring rennaissance to our country and portray its strength and identity of our lovely nation, each person so called nominated has some positivety to contribute ! if president can nominate why second thought , first a defence analyst and computer/IT savy....BETTER THAN old poiticialns who have hardly contributed anything any way, only now things are changing ,having educated off beat people leading . iamproud to ahve any body educated and eminent totake the pwerfull nation in lead ,enough of grand old mans (dummys)

Indian President

It doesn't matter who sits there. As he is there just to sign some docs. Its highest post with no power or power not utilized.

Kalam should continue
by Javed on Apr 10, 2007 11:16 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I believe India has no better choice than Kalam as president. He's a brilliant, talented and a kind person. However, as an alternative Narayan Murthy is a good option who is a sharp n intelligent person.

Whether he is Dr. Kalam or NRM they are just there to sign the docs. , nothing more than that and where the education come in between, guys our honrble PM is the most educated prime minister in the world and i realy pround of that, but does he made any difference, despite of having more power than a president??? Yes, i know that our economy is growing like anything,, but if i am not wrong, is it because of India??? i don't agree it's all because of the Business we are getting from US and Europe we are earning like anything because of our Cheap labour Mark on our head and Yes the good thing with us is our Academin culture in India, which gives us an Edge! No body can make a difference whether he is Dr. Kalam or NRM until or unless we stop issues like castism (Quota) and other stuff!!!

This is bullshi%%, pathetic reporting by rediff. Kalam is too nice a person to say that Murthy shouldn't become president on being asked such a direct question.
Murthy should stick to infy (although ask any infy employee at the top and he will tell you that Murthy has been preparing for being the President for a long time, he does have a certain political streak in him) and Kalam to presidency.

by Subramaniam Ramalingam on Apr 10, 2007 11:15 PM  Permalink

Yes

I would like to see Mr Narayana Murthy as our next President

Mr Vajpayee's best / long contribution to India is Mr APJ as President

Let Mr Narayanamurthy as President be one of the long term contributions of our Mr APJ & Dr Manmohan Singh to our Nation

I have already conveyed my wishes and greetings as far as 19-02-05 itself to Mr Narayana Murthy himself through his better half Mrs Sudha Murthy when she presented her English Novel ' Mahashwetha ' at' Landmark' in Chennai

She has duly conveyed my message to him as per her reply mail to me on the next day promptly

Let India have another Pragmatic President who can be the Guiding Spirit to our Youth like Mr APJ- the Second Mahatma - to our Children to take our Nation to the GREAT INDIA 2020

since indian president is only ekspekted to sign on dotted lines, it is only appropriate that a "KALAM" is permanently kept in the rashtrapati bavan.

Narayana Murthy as President ??
by satheesh kumar on Apr 10, 2007 09:50 PM  Permalink

I'm glad to read about controversey visualising Narayanamurthy to serve the people of India as her president and I hereby present my views.

1. It's true that Narayanamurthy is a successful businessman with tonnes of money- is that the reason he wants to be the president?. I haven't seen any news item in north american media where Bill Gates aspired to be American president or UN secretary general !!.

2. The post of president involves expertise in natioanal and international affairs to safeguard our interest. Unfortunately Narayanamurthy might not be able to - he even felt that singing the national anthem at bangalore might have "embarrassed" company employees of foreign origin. Little can be said about his ability to safeguard the interests of one billion indian people.

I wish Naranamurthy's utilises his ability as a successful entrepreneur to taken the suceess of indian software industry to new heights !!.
