Ideal choice. But Kalam must do it for one more term first. As for Murthy being the supreme commander of armed forces, where is the problem. We had Mulayam Singh and Pranabh Da as Defence minister who will not pass as a recruit. Murthy as President will be a great day for India. Shobha De is also for it on behalf of ladies.
In my opinion Kalam should get second chance to become of a president and next preference should goes to Murthy because these two peoples are deserving candidates and I hope and believe they will take us for better tomorrow.
NRN may be an efficient thinker and administrator but in what way would his capabilities be utilised by having him as a President? If its just to create an ideology based Presidential office, without any thought of Reformatory Administration, this should be an admissible thought for discussion. Otherwise, Having NRN as President appears like using a Mariner's Compass to find out the direction of a room inside the house. This is without prejudice to the thought that compared to names like Bachan, NRN would certainly be a better choice, though, still not the appropriate one. It is better to have Kalam continue to have a second term than having other thoughts
Ye, although we can say indutrialists might try influence on their policies but we have had ver y good contribution from Narayanmurty and Infosys for growth of indian economy. We would be please to honour him as president with expectation that his statements as president would be for innovative, young and growing India unlike sluggish politicians aquiring that post as puppets of some parties, Vish!!
Besides Murthy, I would like to see Dr.E.Sreedharan (Metro-Man) also as a candidate.He brings selfless service to the nation,man of high integrety,humble yet determined,knows how to keep politicians at bay,and avove all a "hamara aam adami".Good for all engineers of this great country.
Let anybody be the the President of this great country. What difference it makes??? If he has no powers to do anything and just kept there as a showpiece and visit the world using our money what is the use??? Any mercy petition should be dismissed within 8 days. What the president is doing whole day that he has not got time for this ?????
I am with kalam,he can continue one more term.but these industrilist will be much better if they are assign as forign diplomat.if industrilist then first contender should be Tata's and certaily not ambani's.

Yes, Mr. Kalam for another term as President and surely I see that India will be in better hands and Mr. Murthy as Vice PResident will be great.
I feel we should have either Kalam or Murthy as president. We should have clean and honest persons as our President. This post should not be reserved for Out of Job politician. further We should have no elected representative with criminal background as MPs/ MLAs. They should be totally barred.
There is subtle difference between power and Software I dont want Murty as President of India He has only vision to software . He is not a overall thinker.
We do not want Narayan Murthy to be the president of India. He holds lot of business all over the world. He cannot able to spend time well on nation%u2019s interest. He is not the right person; it is not possible for a man to handle two big positions at the same time. Since he is a businessman, he does not know the common man%u2019s daily hardship.
