How about dividing INDIA again...This time Physically...
by Shan on Apr 08, 2007 07:05 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Insted of all these hallas why dont the givernment do this

Divide 27% of India and give to it OBC and let them do anything with it.

Give 12% to SC ST and let them do anything with it

divide another 12% and give it to minorities and let them do anything with it.

Why do they want a logical division mixed up everywhere-Let it be physically.

Shame less creatures... What do they think of India...Is it their fathers property...And the general indian citizens does nothing but tolerate it and this encourages them to do more

Brahmins are just 3% in population, but they are occupying approximately 80 to 85% of jobs in all Public sector banks and Public sector companies. Don't you think this is most unfair. To nullify this unbalance govt is proposing reservation for OBC s and SC& STs.I don't understand why you are opposing this good move by govt. It looks you are highly selfish

senthilvel,cyba et al,
yes, brahmins are just 3%, I agree 60 yrs ago there was discrimination. What about now ? after all these years of state sponsored anti-brahminism ? You guys any better ? no . Don't you think blaming Brahmins is an easy excuse for a) your utter lack of enterprise b) the failure of the govts elected by you to uplift the lower castes ? The evidence in TN is apparently many ppl have directly benefited by reservations, because the govt directly created/handed over jobs to people based on caste . But this has benefited mainly the so-called backward castes, many pallars and pariars, the SC/STs of TN still have not seen their communities develop. This is because, casteism is not just a brahmin institution, every other caste stomps over the one below it. In TN, as of now, Brahmins have ceased to be factor , but the zillions of caste parties are demanding their slice of pie, basically the reservation issue has become a runaway train.

As to why Brahmins are better - because its the ethos of our community, as a child if you are not good in studies you are considered a failure, if you we steal your jobs, you have to understand a basic point, it was never yours to startwith, we know the rules, we play by the rules, you change the rules to your favor, still we win, the bottomline is, appreciate our tenacity, and i know you don't us to be there anymore, so most of us have anyway moved out. But has the Brahmin exodus made you a better person ? you have to ask that question yourself.

What I am trying to say here is inspite of all these reservation for several years, still brahmins occupy majority of jobs in Public sector banks and Public sector companies and this unproportionate respesentation in govt jobs should be removed at any cost

true, we need diversity along with the merit as a selection guideline for jobs, but the problem with a quota system is more complex.

Lets discuss us first in a) education and b) jobs.

Education: We have to start from the primary schools. Any kid has a chance to enter college only if he finishes up school. In TN this is the untold success story, thanks to Kamaraj and later MGR many children of lower class went to school and hence were able to aspire for higher education. quota in colleges is a joke, because if you have 3 lakh students taking 12th std exams then there needs to be at least 3 lakh college seats . We do have them, but what if everyone of them want to become an engineer or a doctor or a computer programmer ? we don't have enough seats. So the Govt cooks up a 70% reservation system, but which severly affects an average, poor upper caste kid ( while any average even rich/middle class lower class kid has the same seat reserved for him), which is a shame but still can be accepted for the "larger good".Okay. What about post-grad ? is there any reason for reservation? don't you think its dangerous for a surgeon to have got his degree because he was a lower caste dude and not necessarily a bright one ?

Jobs : You are running a business, for your money's worth, would you employ the best guy for the job or you'd fill it with someone just because he is lower caste . Or for that matter, would you promote someone because he is lower caste, even though you know he doesn't deserve the promotion . Basically there are various scenarios in jobs where a quota system seems to give a undue advantage for someone because of their caste. So in my opinion, there should be a guideline to companies to adhere to improve the diversity in the workplace, and of people really wanting to work in such companies . Along with merit, the HR should also be able to appreciate the persons's unique background . This is obviously not a new concept, its being followed in US with reasonable success.

True... its time to democratization of judiciary from it age old pro-upper-caste attitude%u2026

Well done... thank for protecting us...

Do you know that Tamil Brahmins are the 1st to received reservation from British to join them as Clarks?

Even British loosed the rules for total marks to from 60% to 35% to make Tamil Brahmins eligible to join there offices - against common men of India...

Tamil and Bengali Brahmins were the 1st traitors against Indians... they still live in British mindset..

why u r hindu . he is muslim, why he is sc. he is st ? why he is OBC ...

i had read that there shall be no discrimination on the basis of caste color ..
but this is discrimination only which is being started by politicians ...
the general candidates dont like this policy so they are against reservation and people who are getting it !
the reserved persons dont like general ones cause they think they are jealous ...
people are builiding hatred among themselves ...

started by politicians and suffered by all peoples !

Manmohansingh is a politician without power. The congress party is changing policies to grab the votes in the next election by wooing the minorieties. It's not good for the nation but good for the congress to stay in power. And puppets Manmohan and Arjun singh see the judiciary as a thorn in the foot.
The chief justice must not budge. People of India must make Manmohansingh sit at home after the next election. Defeat the party leaders who take their orders from a former bartender/waitress and run the country.

Do not compare judiciary of British raj with present judiciary. Because they were supposed to give verdict based on British law, which did not treat Indians as equal to Britishers. What do you want to say when you say "Judiciary represents meritocracy." Do you mean to say people with retarded merit should become judges? Are you mad?
