IITian normally end up in US after completing studies and nobody is even bothered to look at the plight of indian politics. Although , this is a small step, I believe its the path of future Indian politics.

This is elitism at its best
by kumar on Apr 06, 2007 12:52 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Sure, these guys are intelligent but there are many others who were not interested in engineering but exelled in their field of choice. Does this mean they cannot join BPD. India has created elitism from IIT students. We need to be inclusive of all intelligent people and ask them to take part in politics for the improvement of the country.

I am an IIT graduate and the way we have a superiority complex against other indians make me sad if this continues onto politics. It would be much of the same.

Besides the division from Lok Paritran shows that its all about power.

If you read the article properly, it said that there were lots of educated candidates among which some were IITians. Your superiority complex is not good for you or the nation. Please get rid of it and use your knowledge for the greater good of the nation.

Splinter group of Lok Paritran
by kannan udayarajan on Apr 06, 2007 12:30 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

BPD is a splinter of Lok Paritran which recently split.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lok_Paritran

We had the same media hype when these guys were out for the lok Sabha Polls.
The truth is , it doesnt make a real difference whether you are from the IIT or not.
Its the motivation and the reason for that motivation that matters.

Anyway these guys have prooved that they are nowhere better than the mainstream parties of India by engineering a vertical split even before they gained any ground.

And it shows that its power which motivates all in politics..

We should still support this party. Great parties like Congress and BJP also had to struggle for years before participating in elections and gaining maturity.

Hi Raghabendra Samantaray ,
Off course its. When a few people from IIT can start and manage a company like Infosys. Just think atleast If 50% of grads coming out IIT would have worked in India for past 20 years, what else wonders could have happened. Do you know whats motivation for starting first IIT by Nehru on old British period Jail. You are talking about few hundred dollars . Think big picture as a nation .
