India has needed a party comprised of only educated people and intellectuals for a very very long time. I hope your party meets huge success in the elections and you bring about a positive change in the constituency you represent. I also hope that more parties like yours come up in the rest of the country. India needs people and parties like yours to clean up the corruption which our country is deeply mired in. I wish you all the best of luck and goodwill. I hope yours won't turn out like the other political parties where they make hollow promises but in the end are only interested in power-play and money. Good Luck.
Good to see some brave and selfless IITians coming into politics and staying in the country. Hope they make a difference here finally instead of taking the first flight out of the country.Wishing them all the best.
As for the other IITians sitting abroad and finding faults with India and its systems, hope this will be an eye opener.Guys - unlike you cowards these guys have chosen to stay back and make a difference in their own way. They too could have left the country and sat abroad. hats off to them. Learn from your fellow alumni and come back home, the country needs you here - don't just sit abroad and write in forums and abuse people voicing their opinions. The time to act is now - India needs a push and some fo you are the best brains around. Come back and take responsibility here in your own country rather than contributing to the development of some already developed country.
Great news. Finally professionally qualified people are taking their steps in politics.Only hope that they do don't get swayed by the fame and easy money. It remains to be seen whether they can change the system or the political system changes them.
Btw what was author thinking when he wrote about Che Guevara being a Cuban revolutionary ? He's Argentinian.

he is argentinian by birth but a cuban revolutionary. Just like MGR is born in Sri Lanka but an Indian chief minister.

I think he's a revolutionary for the whole of South America. Was just checking Wiki and he seems have fought almost everywhere in Latin America including Cuba and finally killed in Bolivia. That would make him a Latin American revolutionary. Must check out his film "Motorcycle Diaries"

What Logic kumar bhai. MGR was born in Sri Lanka but was an Indian citizen. Thats why he could become a Chief minister in India. An argentinian who also lends his support to the cuban revolution doesn't become a cuban revolutionary. By that logic, George Bush wants to bring about a democratic revolution in Iraq, so he should be called an Iraqi revolutionary.
The revolution has begun. We just need a few more like those and hope to see our country free of corruption and poverty. GOD! PLEASE BLESS THESE YOUNG GUYS who have taken the responsibility to work for the country.May their work and efforts never go in vain and may they return victorious.
IITians should stick to economics and technology, we dont need them in politics. IITians will always talk about equality, anti-reservation stuff.....guys if you believe in equality will you marry a dalit or muslim girl from a poor family....or will you allow ur sister to marry a dalit guy or muslim guy....the answer is BIG NOOOOOOOOOO
Then all your Hi-Fi fundas of equality go to trash.....so what u really mean by equality is abolish reservations....thats it.....u really dont care of social equality
So stop ur bullshit and get to work....and by the way to be a good politician you need to know man management, LALU, MAYAWATI are masters in that....non of ur stupid IIT books can make u better than them
Just a small eye opener.....reply if you dare to face the truth

Nitin, Agree with you that man management (people management) is important in politics. First of all, what is to say that these IITians do not have those skills. May be they do. All of us will have to agree that these are some of the best brains, atleast academically. May be they will put their thought process to work in politics and change the way that the things are in present day India. You will have to agree that a educated mind is better than an uneducated muscle power driven political leader..

If someone is really good, so I would like to say that because of Mr Shukla a deserving candidate cud not get IIT seat. Now what is the use of that IIT tag.....We do not need our cream to go into the politics business, what we need is good people, who wud not accept corruption at any level.

What are you thrilled about sitting in Canada ? Come back here to India and make a difference instead of clapping and yapping and contributing to the development of Canada.Useless fencesitter.
Yes, we need educated people to take things forward for us, for how long we will get ruled by uneducated, cast biased politicians.
And to answer to one of the messages, I am not saying IITians are the only ones to contribute, we have good and educated people who are non IITians, but IITians do make a BIG difference and we should all take this in a very positive state of mind.
