Great opportunity for the lower castes
by myfaq on Apr 06, 2007 09:39 AM  Permalink

There is great news for all uppercastes. US and Europe are in dire need of bhangees a.k.a toilet cleaners. They want to hire Indian SC/ST/OBCs and no one else as they think the Indian Bhangees have much expertise in this profession since Vedic times. The US and European Union have infact clearing the bill of reservation which states that 99% is reserved for only Indian Bhangees. For Bhangees this is a gold rush. At last the unfortunate SC/STs/OBC got some respite after thousands of years of torture from the upper castes. I talked to some bhangees, they are infact planning to build houses/swimming pools for themselves in the shape of comode/ or Indian style. What creativity!!! Alas but they are insisting on only sewage water in the swimming pools.

Don't cry over spilt milk
by myfaq on Apr 04, 2007 09:27 PM  Permalink

We all had been taught in our schools not cry over spilt milk. The SC/ST/OBCs all are fighting for reservations for something they did not even suffer. If something did happen 100 of years back, YOU cannot get the benefit of it now. For instance, I cannot ask compensation from you if your great grand-father had murdered my great grand-father. All you SC/ST/OBCs are hyprocrites and following the rule 'Make hay when the sun shines'. If you are really want to help join govt. schools as teachers, go to the villages and educate the children or do some social service like collect money and give them free food, medicines, adult education etc. I am sure no SC/ST/OBC will be willing to do that. You need a lot of commitment, sacrifice to do that, fighting for reservation/freebies is much easier, isn't it?

Brahmins are great!!
by myfaq on Apr 04, 2007 09:26 PM  Permalink

Today what SC/STs/OBCs are fighting for more freebies and trying to justify it by hook or by crook should realise that the brahmins have paid taxes for decades with the interest that these talented SC/STs/OBCs will get educated and contribute to the growth of the country. If the SC/ST/OBC politician eats away the money given for the purpose they cannot blame the brahmins for that. No wonder the Vedas had clearly demarcated the profession of each caste. If the SC/ST/OBC tries to do a job of a kshatriya like rule the country, we can see the result in front of our eyes.

Enough

We need not abuse/exploit you.
You need not abuse/exploit us.
Enough of this.

Reservations are only an education and employment issue to you (1/3rd of life).
For us it is our life.

Do not pretend you can/will understand this.

The solution is

Reservation: boon or bane?
by Prem Kumar on Apr 03, 2007 10:41 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

All,
Ask yourselves whether reservation is a boon or bane?

Anti-quota folks,
Since you have the power to express your opinions loud in forums & mails, doesn't mean your are in majority. Poor & backward don't get their voices heard and they always seem minority even though, I'm sure, more than 50% of our country is OBC or SC/ST.

Also, when you think reservation is not fair-play then ask yourself, whether it is fair-playing ground? Are you who educated in good convent and had multiple tuitions to clear your 12th std with *flying* colors equal to the poor rural student, who don't have proper access to books and education in Govt schools and also have to work for his daily food apart from schooling? Is it the *EQUALITY* you all ask for?

That student is economically & socially down-trodden because of the social inequalities existed in India for several centuries. When you great grand-daddy went to school in cycle, his great grand-dad was not allowed to walk in the town roads and were made to work only as janitors. This curse got passed on to him from generations.

This is just a course-correction and reservation is made to make level ground, not to snatch away oppurtunities from anyone. Think about it!

People will suffer , they include OBC's also
by yadav on Apr 03, 2007 10:02 PM  Permalink

These political parties are doing bandhs but who will suffer on that day. It will be the poor people. All people including OBC's will also suffer and the lot of people who earn day to day bread will be suffering. I remember the courts imposing fine on Shivsena and BJP in Maharastra for doing bandh. These parties should be asked to pay some money to the people before doing any bandhs. All these politicians are b******s
