Aziz says Kashmir resolution will bring peace in South Asia

Sub: - At SAARC, Pakistan inflicted insult to injuries of Kashmiris.

Dear Sir

As per Sunday news in prominent Indian media, Pakistan demanded that first Kashmir problem be solved before any thing such as trade, joint anti %u2013 terrorism measures etc. is taken up at SAARC summit.

Even common sense dictates that unless grave disputes like Kashmir problem is solved there can be no worthwhile trade etc. between contending nations especially when they are nuclear powers and a last word is yet to be written on their partition.

But the confusion about non relevance of Kashmir solution was spread by unrealistic shift in Pakistan policies who suddenly started believing that CBMs and some funny ideas such as joint control, irrelevance of borer etc will ultimately solve Kashmir problem.

Any body who thought that Kashmir problem could be solved by such gimmicks of India & Pakistan then he was living in his own make believe world in view of the following:-

(1)- Kashmir problem can not be solved unless Kashmir is reunified.

(2)- But on one side Hindu majority India is simply not interested in retrieving its lost territory of Muslim majority POK and on other side India will never compromise on its territorial integrity which implies that whole of J&K (including POK is an integral part of India). Whereas Pakistan does not have adequate military power to snatch remaining Kashmir from India.

(3)- Kashmir problem got exacerbated mainly due to confusion created by India by participating in the UN proceedings of plebiscite (despite constitutional mandate of sovereignty which debars Government of India from taking part in such UN proceedings in view of constitutional provisions of entire J&K including POK as an integral part of India). Even worst, despite provision of sedition under section 124 %u2013 A of Indian Penal Code, India still talks to separatist from J&K as if India%u2019s territorial integrity & sovereignty is negotiable.

(4)- Kashmiris have run out of their steam due to senseless armed struggle (supported mainly by Pakistan sponsored fundamentalists on both sides of LOC) in which Kasmiris have already lost tens of thousands of their youth and have procured grave colossal miseries for Kashmiris.

(5)- Surviving Kashmiris on both sides of LOC owe it to these departed souls that Kashmir problem is solved.

(6)- Hence the moral responsibility & key to Kashmir solution lies only with Pakistan whose interest and initiative will ultimately decide the fate of Kashmir problem.

Hence people of J&K on the eve of SAARC got cheered up because they thought that said delay tactics of India & Pakistan in relation to solving Kashmir problem were ultimately over. Pakistan seemed to have woken up (Kashmiris hoped, permanently) to the reality that enough is enough and now some serious & tough talks, on Kashmir issue, with India (even at forums like SAARC) will be in order.

But to the dismay of Kashmiris, Pakistan did not wake up permanently as it did not insist in the real sense of the term, at SAARC summit, on first resolving the Kashmir dispute.

This tantamount to Pakistan inflicting insult to injuries of Kashmiris

Yours truly

Kashmir should stay with india, even if we bleed
by ammy on Apr 03, 2007 04:32 PM  Permalink

Aziz knows that Pakistan is paying a heavy prize for its obsession with kashmir...so much so that it has virtually become a bankrupt state running on terriorism economy...He knows that any resolution on kashmir will actually help pakistan more than india...
Next Pakistan is facing acute water scarcity owing to punjus diverting water to punjab aqnd leaving the rest sindh and baluchistan without a drop...If india gives even an inch to pak, they will get most of the river waters that originate from himalayas which are currently being used in feilds of Haryana, punjab, UP etc...So a resolution of kashmir will not only help pak resolve its water crises which has given rise to troubles in sindh and baluchistan, but will also start water crises in north india drying up feilds here..
So in my opinion, though we are bleeding in kashmir...its still better to keep it going this way than giving it up and helping enemies by default.

Simple solution divide for world peace
by Kishore Babu on Apr 03, 2007 11:33 AM  Permalink

The main problems of South Asia are balochistan, Sindhi,MQM ect. These moments are comming from the hearts of ppl due to thier oppression by rules. These all are sins of pak.
Another issue is support to talibans this also sin of pak.The kashmir issue is created and fuelled by pak since 1989 and it will come down as none of the ppl have complained that they had any issue atleast till 1989.
The real solution to south asian problem (or to most of the terrorism faced by world today) is divide pak into pieces and handover some pieces to India and some to Afghan and may be even some pieces like taliban regions to china so that chinese will teach how simple it would be to deal with so called global terrorism.

In Pak/Aziz vocabulary, peace in Kashmir means make pieces of India.

Solving Kashmir = peace in SAsia?
by shyam c on Apr 03, 2007 07:31 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Only a lunatic will say this. Let me explain- SriLanka has nothing to do with Kashmir, Nepal is hardly interested in Kashmir, Bangladesh is too far to worry about kashmir, Maldives hardly considers Kashmir an issue, Bhutan abhors the ruckus in Kashmir. That leaves India and Pakistan in South Asia and both are keen on resolving it. What is the Kashmir issue? Pakistan refuses to recognise that The princely state of Kashmir signed to be a part of the UNion of states of India. Pakistan tries to use men in mufti to gain control over Kashmir. Pakistan still occupies half of Kashmir. Pakistan supports subversion, terrorism and what have you to get control of Kashmir. And hey in 18 years of efforts and pouring money into jihad, they have little to showcase as success. Now they want to talk their way out and eeke a little to show they have succeeded and that their direction however costly, gets benefits. Brothers, sisters and friends, lets all tell Pakistan that thier religious fanaticism has not only created a failed state of Pakistan, they also have unleashed a untold misery unto millions of people in the sub-continent. It is time they pay for their sin and continued support to Islamic fundamentalism and terrorism. The only true solution is to peacefully surrender the occupied portion of Kashmir to India and make friends of their more than forgiving neighbours -India. That will truly usher an era of peace and happiness to over 1.7 billion people in the subcontinent. Hey the math is deliberate - all of SAARC is held back thanks to Pakistani ambitions of splitting up India.

Pakistan is not trying to destabilize since just 18 years.

Pakistan is in this since 1947. They tried all tricks.

by AK on Apr 03, 2007 06:32 AM  Permalink
