Should Dr Kalam be given a second term
by natarajan iyer on Apr 03, 2007 06:46 PM  Permalink

We should understand the qualities expected of a president especially in a Congress ruled era .If you look at their history ,they look for a man who is pliable, accomodating and doing things at their biding without murmur(a la Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed ).Dr Kalam does not fit in their scheme of things ,especially now when they do not have a majority on their own. So,even though he may be willing,he will not be nominated for sure.He became president due to NDA otherwise .

Next president should be less than 60 years old.

Next president should be less than 60 years old.

All you guys dont realise that in most countries they have President,VP, PM, Ministers less than 50. Why is it India most politicians are over 75 except a few.

They want to enjoy power till the grave. I am sure soon we will see people dying in office of old age. Anyway maybe its good, we will get 1 day holiday..haha

The Governors of states are even worse..old men who have retired from politics and cannot walk, talk or just fit for opening assembly session are made guv.

What a sorry state!

This point does not count any more.

We need to a leader not a follower of other nation.

We were the Leader of this world and we will be the leader in 2050.

Atop this obsession with young age. I love Youth but not Young age. I have seen umpteen teen agers and twenty-somethings who just after 6-7 hours of work or a couple of hours of class, come home and crash and can't do much except watching TV asking their seventy year old Gradma to make tea for them and there are many 80 years old who are much more energetic - some phyiscally and most others mentally. So Stop worshipping Young age. Start liking the activeness of thoughts and actions!

I am not a fan of politicians but if there is one thing I like in them is never-say-die spirit (whatever may be the motive), work much more than most young age people. If our young age people work with the dedication and hard work of our politicians (not their despicable causes) India can really shine. So Stop abusing Old age! Start thinking how you want to remain Young in heart and spirit even at Old age.

And remember one thing definitely adds to their (old people's ) advntage - that is the wisdom and life experience

Abdul kalam should not be given second choice.
1.Delay in hanging Afzal.
2.Uncontrollable Price raise
3.Merely a rubber stamp of Sonia Gandhi
4.Scott free Quatarochi
5.dancing like a puppet in the hands of karunanidhi

Only LALUPRASAD Can be, if he wishes

Dr.Kalam
by Marga Bandhu on Apr 03, 2007 05:01 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It looks clear that Dr.Kalam got this clean & lovable image aka Sachin Tendulkar. Even I admire him for the fact that a well-educated person with bo baggage occupied the position.
But if I really look for one outstanding work/act that he has done in his tenure there seems to be hardly anything.

I invite your comments really to know his contribution as President & Supreme Commander.(Pl leave out Lectures to Children, Books, M.S etc).

you are right. why is he dealying his decision about sentencing a militant to death penalty. what about the bravery of the soldiers who fought and died to protect all corrupt politicians. even he could have been a hostage. the relatives have already returned the medals isnt theat prrof enough how poorly india treats its martyars?

I agree. Except for showing the legal angle to prevent Sonia from becoming the PM, there isnt any ve on Dr. Kalam's list. Even otherwise Manmohan is a remote controlled PM.

Plus not hanging the terrorist is a very very big -ve which will show us in very poor light. We are anyway too poor on that count and this would only expose us further.

@ Marga Bandhu
Is there any one outstanding work/act done by the former presidents of India? Atleast Dr.Kalam has done so much for the nation. Has any former prsidents done atleast 25% of his efforts and awareness? I think the problem with all north indians/ Karnakatakatakata people is that he is from TN, rather tamilian. If you ain't a racist, you can't blame Dr.Kalam

Its bcoz almost everyone in Karnatakatakataka are anti-tamilians, just like how srilankankankana are anti-indians. And I hate anti-tamilians and anti-indians. Utimately - If you ain't a Racist, you cannot deny Dr.Kalam's contributions to India... By the way if u wanna know his achievements, google for it, coz if I say you won't belileve me. Thank You

According to me President post shd go to that person who can throw a clear and strong objection against bills/decision (taken by the ministry) which are not in favour of the growth
and impression(in international scinario) of the NATION.
President shd hv some power otherwise this
expensive post shd be abolished.Need to change
the constitution accordingly.
Pls comment
