President Kalam
by on Apr 04, 2007 12:13 AM  Permalink

No doubt the most honorable and apt figure head India can have in this century. He is the personification of intelligence, grace and absolute charm. To have some one as accomplished as Dr. Kalam as the president of India is a source of great pride to the common Indian. Its sad that the President of India is a toothless tiger. I thus believe we should have a non-politician as the president.

Best choice
by nirmal raj on Apr 03, 2007 11:45 PM  Permalink

I would love to see Dr.Kalam continue as the head of state of our mother India. He is 1000 times better than Mr. Big B, the candidate planned to be nominated on behalf of SP,TDP,ADMK parties and the other Congress craps like Karan Singh, Arjun Singh, Sushil Kumar Shinde(I really wonder whats so great about this guy who gets nominated for every high post)...

We want a President who really loves and cares for this country even though he doesnt have much powers to bring changes. But ultimately its again the politicians who decide who should be the President. God save this country...

Best President Ever
by aruna kumar on Apr 03, 2007 11:33 PM  Permalink

Dr. Kalam has shown that its possible to actually do something worthwhile as the President of India. While the previous presidents came and went without much accomplishments, the visionary Dr. Kalam has re-ignited the passion for progress in India, in all fields. We want him there for a longer time. We are proud of him. He is truly a great scientist and a great humanitarian. May India gain more and more people like him.

President is the head of all our armed forces and I am sure he did his best and is still doing to improve them in a way beyond anyones wildest imagination. Coming to meeting children, in the present situation where people are fleeing to developed nations he is doing what he can to keep the countries educated elite in the country. Though this may not reflect right away, it sure will show a lot of change in the future when these kids grow up to become our countries force. This is more than what anyone could expect from a nominal head of a country. But in my opinion he is the first person who proved that President is not nominal.

What is the problem with kalam
by manoj on Apr 03, 2007 09:42 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Hello Kalam,

What is your problem with numbers.

You seem to suggest all magic numbers like 2020/2017 etc.

If I say like- I want India to lead the World in R&D around 2312 - 2 years. AM I a visionary or FOOL??

Are you irresponsible in telling the poor downtrodden indians like if you happen to live to see 2017/2020 then come and ask me the status of my empty visions like poll promise, only to be repeated in next election with an electorate with poor memory and belief in your magical numbers.

Don't insult us kalam with your magic numbers. Tell us the efficiency of the indian Process/ How much effort Govt has taken it to improve today and how much it has improved at the end of the day.

If that is 0-zero-0 (which indians have discovered) then please stop these recital of magic numbers

Ramachander !! Great reply to Manoj...a fool sees problems in solutions...a genius sees solutions in problems...a visionary sees oppurtunities in solutions...Dr.Kalam is a genius and a visionary. It is his clarity of thought, his experiences at the highest levels of technology and politics that he is able to formulate and chart a course of action as to where the country should head while lesser individuals talk of "growth", "inclusive governance","caste based growth","minority appeasement" etc....India is where it is now inspite of our ruling class....and to a large extent to a few shining gems....Dr.Kalam is one of these gems and shines the brightest ! Support Dr.Kalam as president !

all for a second term!
by Abhishek Banerjee on Apr 03, 2007 09:14 PM  Permalink

If there is one man at the helm whom we really trust to protect national interests, it is Dr. Kalam. Especially in this era of anti-national governance, when the Communists are trying to capture India and Congressmen are trying to surrender it to Pakistan... and Sonia ji is cracking a fascist whip on noncongress state govts, Dr. Kalam's conscientious stewardship is imperative.

Freedom from politicians ? He's not the one who's doing that, noway. He's nice & graceful, but he's not the one who is revolutionary, or changing our lives. Yes he's really for ceremonies but he's not one where we can pin our hopes.

It is stupidity of the people to elect criminals and anti-nationals as their leaders and expect someone from heaven to come down and clean up the mess.
