Who wants you in India
by mahek arora on Apr 06, 2007 05:30 PM  Permalink

The Biggest traitor to this country are not the ones who are hindus or muslims but people like Ken and his wife who being Indians are ashamed to stay In India and now that they are here do not appreciate that we (Indians) have accepted Kafirs as these. Its good that US kicked them out and Wish India could follow the suit.

go india go
by jayakrishna c on Apr 06, 2007 02:40 PM  Permalink

for a 57 year old independent country, i think india is learning and growing fast by looking at america and other nations. every country has a bad history. india is no exception.

once upon a time india was like present america, everybody was migrating(invading) to india for better life/money. even columbus was in search of it.

i think india is doing exceptional inspite of so many complex cultures and communication problems. english as a language definitely had played a good role in this.
if we had rules, role models and a common language, may be we would have grown/developed faster.

the concept of living and dying for motherland is not there anymore.. i think.
you will notice people from all over the world in america, they obviously went there for better life.

my point is we may not be like america now, but we will get there. the only request to the people leaving india is dont say anything bad about india, thats all.

These are the people who give Indians a bad name
by Allat the moon God on Apr 06, 2007 10:55 AM  Permalink

1. Why does rediff publish such articles without verifying the facts? Does anyone from rediff even read the feedback here?

2. What action can the Indian goverment take because at the end of the day, India has been defamed by these people who's only motive in life is to stay in the US?

3. These people contributed to the US economy, why can't they contribute now to the Indian economy?

Good article
by S Ramanathan on Apr 05, 2007 08:46 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I think this is an article to make us think. What options does this guy have? Come back to India to face reservation etc.? Their son would probably have to face the same issues they escaped from (temporarily). I respect their sacrifice of prestige and happiness to see their son successful. Those who talk about Indian prestige etc. would not be able to provide for their son if he is in India. At least in the US, the extent of reservation/communal politics is lesser.

Dear Ramanathan,

It is very clear that this couple has not told the truth. He says he went to study, study what? If it was MS then he would have had no trouble finding an H1 Sponsor. His first lie in the article that he went to a lawyer for H1, well he should have been talking to an employer and not a lawyer unless he was trying something illegal. Second lie, no lawyer in his right mind (in US) would falsify a claim and not tell the client about it. Obviously this guy wanted to stay in US at any cost and asked the lawyer for options and might have been told to apply seeking asylum, this guy saying he didn't that is BS or he is ignorant that one wonders hopw he ever landed in US. Third lie or rather a shameful act to claim that the Gujrat riots as the reason for asylum. These people should be ,kicked out of India too. I have lots of respect for Indians and Gujratis who come up the hard way and legally, but couples like these two and many of their clan that I have seen in New Jersey/New York bring nothing but shame on Indians due to their deeds. I pity their son, I hope he comes to India and lives with their parents, I am not sure why they have not brought him back. I have a child born in US but no problem getting adjusted to India. I let her stay in India away from us for 1 year and she enjoyed thoroughly and speaks Kannada fluently. So, I don't see why their son cannot live in India, Indian govt. has come with PIO and OIC which will allow him to stay without any problem.

I agree to your views. Also I wonder why didn't they bring their son back with them. Hr should not have any problem since he is Person of Indian Origin (PIO).

Totally agree with you. Best part about this story is it is very clear even for a commom man that it is painting an unrealistic picture here. This guy Ken must have been dumped there and they have been living there illegally over the past 16-17 years.

I only feel bad for their son since he is an American citizen and would obviously want to be there. No mercy should be shown to these parents.

this couple applied for political asylum - must be the first hindu couple from india to do that!!!!!!!their reason- they feared muslims !! wot a popycok. their lawyer must have suggested them that as in USA p0st 9/11 muslim bashing is fair game. they can very well settle in gujarath under Modi's patronage- and build any number of motels they want
they are insult to all honest Indians and i am glad they were denied immigration status

AShfaq Ji, they applied for asylum in 90's before the 9/11, so please don't bring irrelevant subject here. You can keep your America bashing and Modi bashing on a different topic.

This story can be best termed as heights of parents being money minded. Excuse my language, but how could these bloody selfish parents leave their only 13-year-old son back in the US alone and come back to India! This only goes to show that they can do anything to be there, probably even wait for their son to turn 18 and sponsor their green card! Well, it is better than claiming political asylum and defaming the country, at least! I am sorry to say, but they don't deserve to be in India either. If they are claiming political asylum, let them deserve that status! Again, sorry for my language, but let them truly experience the phrase "gali ka kutta, na ghar ka na ghat ka."

grow up rediff. Are you trying Ken is innocent? How can he quote babri masjit demolition and seek political asylum on the communal basis in the USA? Why are you encouraging these types of articles?
Ken is wrong here. Hilarious thing is - he went to US in 1990 as student and brought his wife in 1992!
Grow up B**** fools!
